Youth Leader moves to unite Ukanafun Youths * Drums support for Udom, Udo Ekpenyong

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader in Ukanafun Local Government Area of the state, Comrade Ubon Senas Ukpanah has finalised plans to meet with all youths of the area in the 11 wards that makes up Ukanafun.

In a chat with our reporter, comrade Ukpanah explained that there is the need to bring youths under one umbrella and keep them focused in order to achieve positive goals that will in the long run spark off youth empowerment and also bring about meaningful development to Ukanafun. 

He stressed that youths have a vital role to play in society building, adding that the time to rise and be counted has come. He added that youths have various roles to play including contributing their quota towards ensuring peace and unity wherever they find themselves.

Comrade Senas Ukpanah called on youths not to resort to violence as a means of settling disputes and grievances but always endeavour to use appropriate channels and constitutional means of making their plights known rather than cause mayhem and unrest. 


“Always employ the option of dialogue to ventilate your grievances. We are one hence there is need for us to coordinate and organise ourselves in order to achieve lasting peace and progress,’’ he stated.

He charged youths of the area to support the government and administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, noting that they are the future generation and the ones that shall take up leadership positions at various levels in life. 

“Having done well so far and showing visible signs of doing more for the state, I wish to call on youths of Ukanafun to support the Udom Emmanuel administration as he continues to deliver dividends of democracy to the state. We trust him, we love him and our support and solidarity for him goes beyond   2019.’’

To further solidify the PDP in the area and also strengthen support for Governor Udom Emmanuel, Comrade Ukpanah stated that he will lead the youths to stage a project which will be known as project 360 degrees. 

He said, this project will soon come on stream and will attract all the PDP youth leaders in the state including the State PDP youth leader Mr. Enobong Harry and also the SA to the Governor on youth matters Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia.

Ukpanah maintained that  Project 360 degrees is aimed at ensuring that Ukanafun youths speak with one voice and also stand on its platform to preach the gospel of Governor Udom Emmanuel beyond 2019. He maintained that the project will also draw support for the PDP in the forthcoming Local Government elections. 

The youth leader added that the flag off of project 360 degrees will come up very soon. He urged youths of Ukanafun to brace up for the future and endeavour to join the train of 360 so that their voices and aspirations will find a footing in the scheme of things.

The youth leader had kind words for Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointing one of their illustrious sons Hon. Udo Ekpenyong as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs into his Executive council. 

He described Udo Ekpenyong as a man that has the interest of Akwa Ibom State at heart, a youth friendly personality and the one who is very good at grassroots mobilization. Ukpanah said with people like Udo Ekpenyong at the helm of affairs that Governor Udom Emmanuel will have nothing to worry about. 

He described the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as a leader among leaders, a qualitative man of honour and a steadfast and loyal party man. He added that with people like Udo Ekpenyong at the helms of affairs in leadership that the PDP in Ukanafun will have nothing to fear. He congratulated the Local Government commissioner and promised to mobilize the youths to support the commissioner to succeed.
