Frontline Technical Educationist solicits Govt., Public Patronage

A foremost specialist in technical and vocational secondary education and training, Engr. Bassey Esin Abang has harped on the need for all to embrace technologically driven system of education rather than over concentration on basic general secondary education. Engr. Abang,  a retired senior education and technical colleges principal state this during a sensitization seminar for lovers of vocational training in Oron Nation.
Stressing the all-round importance and the absolute need for young primary school leavers to embrace and pursue vocations in different fields of technology, Engr. Abang, the frontline vocational and skills development expert maintained that with cogent training in technical college education, a young school leaver would not only readily secure a job in oil and gas industry.

Engr. Bassey, who is also the proprietor of Basin Technical School, Oyoku Ibighi, in Urue Offong Oruko local government area, disclosed that the college, which is efficiently grounded to offer effective vocational education in all ramifications, similarly displayed degree certificates, Higher Natonal Diploma, as well as NCE certificates possessed by the principal and teachers in the school.
According to Engr. Abang, Basin Technical College, Oyoku Ibighi, offers comprehensive technical education in electrical installations, fabrication, and welding, electronics, technical drawing, marine engineering, computer science/ ICT, bricklaying and engineering craft, introductory technology, as well as general education such as Economics, Business Studies, Biology, Commerce, English, Mathematics, catering and hotel management, among others.
He then passionately appealed to the chairmen of the five local government councils in Oro Nation, Akwa Ibom state government, philanthropists and private organizations to identify with his urge and innate desires to create wealth and employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.
In his remark, the chairman of the event, and newly appointed chairman of the Governing Council of school, Chief Emmanuel Esifa, implored everyone to key into Engr. Abang’s lofty ideals for posterity to record such benevolence in history.
Chief Esifa, who is also the Chairman, League of Veteran Journalists in AKS pledged to use his wealth of experience to attract patronage to the institution.
