Esio Oquong Udoh remains our Political Leader— Group Insist

Tension is currently brewing from the recent attack  by some unscrupulous elements on the personality of the political leader of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area, Rt. Hon.(Dr) Esio Oquong Udoh in some of the local tabloids recently on how he is parading himself as the political leader of the LGA.

In a swift reactions from one of the leading socio political organization in the area known as Concern Citizens of Urue Offong Oruko LGA, vehemently condemned in strong terms the attack on their leader whose immense contributions has cut across the entire Oro Nation  and Akwa Ibom State at large.

According to the group’s statement  signed by Edet Bassey Okon and Bassey Sunday Ekpo as President and Secretary, respectively wondered why a highly  respected leader, like Dr. Esio Oquong Udoh, who has represented Oron Federal Constituency in the National Assembly for eight years where he also serves as the chairman south south parliamentary caucus 2003-2007 and first elected chairman of Urue Offong Oruko LGA could be disregards in such a baseless and frivolous publications coloured with blackmail, character assassination and pull-him-down syndrome.

According to them “at no time that Rt. Hon (Dr.) Esio Oquong Udoh was been imposed by anybody as a political leader, but was at a stakeholders meeting which had in attendance who is who in the LGA including the transition chairman, Princess Precious Selong, PDP chapter chairman, Hon. Okon Asuquo Uyah and other PDP ward officers and after due, wide and proper consultation, that our leader, Rt. Hon.(Dr) Esio Oquong Udoh was unanimously elected as the political leader of the LGA in view of his sterling qualities and good track records, and in order to fill in the vacuum left by the former Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Chief Etim Okpoyo who is now an elder statesman.

The group who described Rt. Hon.(Dr) Esio Oquong Udoh political attainment and achievements as no-mean repute, pointed out that his pedigree, moral antecedents, civility and imprimatur characters is second to non and  highly accepted by the people of Oro Nation and Akwa Ibom State at large.

They however, challenged the opposition who are APC members but unfortunately are still hiding in the folds of PDP to play their usual politic of discourse to show to the public where their blackmails and intrigues have ever taken them to. Similarly, they added that because of the gravity and legal implication of the publications, and in consonance with their political mentor, Dr. Esio Oquong Udoh, they have refer the matter to their legal team for advice and seek redress against the conspirators and hired political jobber of the Local Government Area.

However, they urged the Governor, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, Urue Offong Oruko people and the entire Akwa Ibomites to disregard the fabricated lies and blackmail even as Urue Offong Oruko people remains 100 percent PDP and united with avowed commitment to support the administration of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
