Chairmanship aspirant promises Uyo will support Udom for 8 Years

Prince Udeme Udo
Chairmanship aspirant for Uyo Local Government in the forthcoming election, Prince Udeme Etim Udo, has promised the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, that his people will support him for eight years even as he pledged to accord priority to rural roads across the 11 wards of the council if elected to man the affairs in Uyo LGA in 2016.

Prince Udo who was speaking with journalists shortly after the 2016 budget breakdown held, Thursday at Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, lauded the State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for sustaining the development of the previous administrations as well as raising the bar in his industrialization drive.
The Chairmanship aspirant, a native of Mbiabong Ikono, in Ikono Clan, Uyo LGA, saluted the State House of Assembly, headed by Speaker Onofiok Luke, for “not rushing to pass the budget but painstakingly assessing the budget as submitted by the Executive”, the development he said is obtainable in saner clime.
Prince Udo, a graduate of Business Management/Entrepreneurship, commended the State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, for his sound management of the State resources, despite the harsh economy and his brilliant ideas to generate revenue for Akwa Ibom.
“For these reasons and more, my people have identified with the governor and have pleged unalloyed support to his government. Already, my people have assured the governor that if he sustains this tempo, the will vote for him totally, in 2019”.
The Chairmanship hopeful used the occasion to note that lack of access to good road network had been one of the major challenges facing his people in Ikono clan and some parts of Uyo, regretting that the situation has really affected peasant farmers who always find it difficult to transport their farm produce to the market.
He said most of the rural dwellers were always cut off from reaching out to neighbouring villages, especially at the peak of rainy season, even as he assured the people of Uyo, that he has included those challenges in his blueprint.
According to Prince Udeme Udo, his administration would also give utmost priority to youth and women empowerment. He added that as a Business Manager and Entrepreneur, he would explore avenues that would provide revenue to the council.
The chairmanship aspirant said his desire to contest was borne out of the confidence residents of the council had in him.
He thanked his supporters for standing with him and urged them to continue to remain law abiding to constituted authorities, especially as election approaches.
The Aspirant also called for political synergy in Uyo, where anybody in the area would be able to aspire for any political position regardless of his or her political background, religion or ethnicity.
