The people of Oro Ferderal Constituency have vowed to be the best supporters of the Dakkada Initiative. They made this known on Wednesday as the Dakkada Train made a stop-over at their domain.
The campaign which will go round the ten federal constituencies of the state seeks to deploy 500,000 ambassadors across the state within a year who will help further sensitize the generality of the populace about the Dakkada message and its necessity.
With the visit, Oron Federal Constituency which is made up of Oron, Udung Uko, Mbo, Okobo and Urueffong Oruko local government areas becomes the fourth Constituency to witness the Dakkada awareness and mobilization campaign which kick-started about a month ago.
At the Oron Council Hall, venue of the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Sam Edoho said each Dakkada Ambassador was expected to showcase the achievements of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration to those who are still not aware of the strides made since May 29 2016.
While highlighting the achievements and intended programmes of the administration, Mr Edoho reiterated the resolve of Governor Emmanuel to leave an indelible mark in the state. He urged every son and daughter of Oron Federal Constituency to rise to the faith of greatness and encouraged them to move beyond ethnicity, bias, religion and gender like the Dakkada creed implies.
The Chairman of the Technical Committee on Agriculture and Food Sufficiency Prof. Edet Udoh encouraged the Dakkada Ambassadors to propagate the gospel of making agriculture a profitable business sector and articulated the different aspects of agriculture which if seriously exploited, can turn Akwa Ibom into a food basket.
Nollywood Star, now Special Assistant to the Governor on Agricultural Project Monitoring, Moses Armstrong while speaking said the determination of the administration to make agriculture a priority is not in doubt. He said the current administration wants agriculture to be as prestigious and rewarding as any other noble profession.
Oron Local Government Boss, Orman Esin promised the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management that the people of Oro Nation will be best supporters of the Dakkada initiative of this administration promising that with their traits as hardworking and energetic people, they would rise up to be counted. He said his people were ready to support government’s efforts in turning the state for the better.
Highlight of the tour was the presentation of certificates and lapel pin ups to special guests and also the Dakkada Ambassadors from the five local government areas.
The occasion attracted a large number of the governor’s aides from Oron Federal Consistuency as well as Traditional Fathers.
The Dakkada Train will move to Abak Federal Constituency on Wednesday.
