Ibom Legislative Cup kicks off next month

Preparations are in top gear as the first  ever Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly U-17 football championship is about to kick start next month.
 
The tournament which is organized by Ibom Annual Football Summit Group in partnership with Vegas Resource Limited, tagged ‘Ibom Legislative Cup 2016’, is billed to kick start on 23rd April, 2016.

Speaking with THE INK sports desk over the weekend, the chairman of the competition, Prince Effiong Ibok said the tournament is open to as many teams as possible who have interest to participate for the competition.
 

While disclosing the price tag for the competition which is #300, #200 and #100 for first, second and third places, the chairman of the competition maintained that all the registered teams stand a chance of getting consolation prizes even as he said that venue for the tournament would be: Four Towns Primary school and Uniuyo mini stadium.
 
He added that the competition has been approved by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and the aim of the tournament would be to select players that would be pushed outside the country. 

“We want to establish a sports academy for Akwa Ibom soccer. The competition is registered with Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA).” 
He however said that the head office for registration is at No.2 Wellington Bassey.
