The Mobilization and Awareness ca paign for Dakkada Ambassadors was in Abak Federal Constituency last week Wednesday.
The campaign which will eventually go round the ten federal constituencies of the state experienced a mammoth crowd at the Independence Hall, Abak, venue for the event as indigenes of the three Local Government Areas-Abak, Ika and Etim Ekpo who make up the Federal Constituency turned up in large numbers.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Sam Edoho in his welcome speech said Governor Udom Emmanuel came to governance prepared and adequately equipped with an intended blueprint which he has promised to executive effectively for the benefit of the state.
He educated the new Dakkada Ambassadors on the need to exhibit a decent and forthright lifestyle, worthy of emulation to serve as an example for what they are expected to propagate.
Commissioner for Health Dr. Dominic Ukpong, himself an indigene of the area commended the Directorate for Marketing and Brand Management for the wonderful sensitization they have been doing and advised the new Dakkada Ambassadors be creative and hardworking to be identified in the new scheme of things. He also urged them to take the gospel of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration to those who still have doubts about the genuine intention of the governor to serve diligently.
Commissioner for Information and Communications Mr Aniekan Umanah while highlighting the achievements and intended programmes of the Udom administration, reiterated the resolve of the administration of Governor Emmanuel to leave an indelible mark in the state and enjoined every son and daughter of Abak Federal Constituency to rise to the faith of greatness and encouraged all to move beyond ethnicity, bias, religion and gender like the Dakkada creed implies.
The Information boss who was accompanied by his wife, Maureen, said the achievements of the governor in just nine months were very impressive saying a nationwide cross-check can reveal the fact that no state government has the vision and intention his boss has.
The chief host, Transition Chairman of Abak, Dr. Emma Udosen in his remarks said in the spirit of Dakkada, Abak Local Government Area has successfully attracted three foreign investors who are already on ground to invest billions of naira in various segments of the economy. According to him, the fact that the Constituency witnessed the largest turn-out so far in the Dakkada Awareness Tour indicates a readiness on the part of the people to key-into the Dakkada philosophy.
Highlight of the tour was the presentation of certificates and lapel pin ups to special guests and also the Dakkada Ambassadors from the three local government areas.
The occasion attracted a large number of the governor’s aides from Abak Federal Constituency as well as Traditional Fathers.
