NAPPMED gets new executive
In consonant with the constitution regulating the operation of the Nigerian Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers, NAPPMED, West Itam Unit of the Association in Itu Chapter on March 22, 2016, officially inaugurated it its new executive to pilot the affairs of the association for a period stipulated by the constitution.

According to our reporter, the inauguration exercise which took place at NAPPMED, Secretariat, West Itam Unit was witnessed by a mammoth crowd, including Uyo Senatorial District Chairman of the Association, Elder Idongesit Sam, Stakeholders of NAPPMED in Itu, members as well as friends of the newly constituted executives.
Barrister Edet Ikotidem, who performed the inauguration, advised members of the newly constituted executive to the guided by the constitution of NAPPMED and to be courageous in ensuring that the objectives to which NAPPMED was formed are fully actualized. He advised them to be good ambassadors that will always defend and protect the integrity of the association any way they find themselves, even as he mentioned that appropriate section of the constitution of NAPPMED shall be invoked against any member found acting against the constitution of the association.
Speaking on behalf of the newly constituted executive, the Unit Head of West Itam, Mr. Godwin Ephraim Uko, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for protection and grace in making the event a success. He showered encomium on members, especially Patron, Elder Bassey Etim Usoro, who facilitated the establishment of West Itam Unit, Mr. Patrick Archibong, Sylvester Effiong and others for their support and encouragement in the long winding journey to repositioning the association in West Itam Unit.

Mr. Godwin Ephraim Uko, commended members for standing by him and for the overwhelming votes given to him in the keenly contested election and equally solicited the co-operation of members to be able to move NAPPMED in West Itam Unit to the next level. The Unit Head, who was visibly elated, promised to run a transparent, open door and an all-inclusive administration where the sensibilities and interests of every member are placed on the table and accommodated, even as he pledged his alacrity to work assiduously to ensuring that NAPPMED, West Itam Unit is elevated to an enviable height in the nearest possible time.

While calling on other contestants who could not make it in the contest to sheath their swords and support the newly constituted executive for the overall interest of the association, he admonished members of the newly constituted executive to see their new positions as an opportunity to serve and not to be served.

Other members of the newly constituted executive include; Comrade Emmanuel E. Eyo, Deputy Unit Head, Comrade Emmanuel Okon, Secretary, Miss Inemesit Ewok, Assistant Secretary, and Miss Uduak Samuel, Treasurer. Others are: Mr. Monday Edet, Financial Secretary, Mr. Uduak Bassey PRO and Mr. Aniekan Daniel as Provost.

However, some of the members, including the Chairman, Uyo Senatorial District of NAPPMED, Comrade Idongesit J. Sam, who spoke with our reporter, immediately after the inauguration have described the election that produced the newly constituted executive as free, fair and credible. Comrade Sam, who expressed appreciation to God for a rancour free election conducted in West Itam Unit, noted with gratitude that it was so transparent to a point that the loser in West Itam Unit Headship Contest, Comrade Ukeme Ekott, who scored 65 votes, embraced Comrade Godwin Ephraim, the winner who scored 113 votes, and promised to work with the new executive.

Moreover, the minute of the general meeting of the association held on February 26, 2016 at West Itam Unit Secretariat made available to in our newsroom, has it that the election was supervised by NAPPMED State Officials, including State Vice President, Samuel Jack, State Financial Secretary, Comrade Ukpong, State PRO, Comrade Friday Udofia, Patron Mike Nse, Elder Patron Bassey Usoro, Mr. Sylvester Effiong and the Chapter Chairman of Itu NAPPMED, Comrade Kubiat Eyibio Akpan, who congratulated the newly elected Officers, immediately after the elections and promised to work with them at the Chapter level of Itu.
