*says Udom showcased me to limelight
The newly appointed member, Finance Committee of the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF), Akparawa Nse Ubeh has promised to represent the
interest of Akwa Ibom State very well in the glass house.
Nse Ubeh who was recently appointed into the Finance Committee
of the highest football body, said his appointment is one of the best things
that has happened to Akwa Ibom State.
Ubeh while addressing journalists in Uyo, thanked Governor Udom
Emmanuel who had given him the opportunity to serve in the Akwa United Football
Club Board as Chairman for ten months, adding that his NFF appointment is as a
result that the Governor showcased him to the limelight by appointing him
Chairman of the State owned club which won three major trophies within his
short tenure in office.
According to the immediate past Akwa United Chairman, “My
appointment has go a long way to show that in life, it’s not all about how
long, but how well. For the short period that the Governor gave me opportunity
to served, l left a record for which I will always be remembered for both in
Akwa United and the League Management Company (LMC). “
He added that his NFF appointment is not the first appointment
he had gotten at the National level, saying that immediately he left Akwa
United, he was appointed as a Director in the League Management Company which
he served for one year. The Etinan born politician stressed that his
suggestions and opinions had brought a lot of improvements into the LMC.
He expressed happiness that his transparency administration
during his tenure as the LMC Director must have triggered his NFF appointment.
“Probably this must have informed the NFF that I am a good hand and that I
should be brought into the Finance Committee. I want to use this opportunity to
say that Akwa Ibom State will be represented very well in the glass house.”
The former International president of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio
further noted that he will do his best to network with other of his colleagues
to ensure that players from Akwa United are fully represented in the Super
Eagles. He said his appointment is an opportunity to work hard in other to
develop players from Akwa Ibom State to the National team.
While promising that Akwa Ibom State will not be relegated to
the background in the politics of glass house, Akparawa Nse Ubeh maintained
that he will be an ambassador to the State and that his appointment came at the
right time.
He used the opportunity to thank the President of Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and the Vice president I I, Shehu
Dikko as well as other NFF members for finding him fit for the appointment.
