Patrick Udomfang has advised the Party in Akwa Ibom State not to be carried
away by the overwhelming victory of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded
local government elections. He rather asked politicians and stakeholders in the
party to go back to their constituencies and units and work hard towards 2019
general elections.
Barr. Udomfang
gave this clarion call while speaking with newsmen in his country home in
Midim, Abak local government area during the 2017 Annual Interdenominational
Choir Competition organized by the Udomfang Foundation.
According to Barr.
Udomfang who a former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
in the State, he said “we should not sit down in our offices and say we are in
control, we are not. It is the people at the grassroots and the units that are
in control. Let us go back to our constituencies and work, go back to our units
and work, go back to our wards and work, so that we will not sweat much during
the 2019 general elections”
He added that 2019
elections will be a national elections controlled by INEC, therefore the PDP in
Akwa Ibom State should work hard so as to achieve the needed victory.
