Choral competition: PDP Chairman, Former Councilor salutes Udomfang

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Midim Ward I in Abak Local government Area, Mr. Michael Akamambet has commended a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the State, Barr. Patrick Udomfang for sustaining the sponsorship of the annual Choral competition for Churches in Midim Clan.

Mr. Akamambet who spoke with journalists during the final of the choir competition described Barr. Udomfang as a worthy and illustrious son of Midim Clan who has used his position to impact positively in on the lives of others.

The PDP Ward Chairman pointed out that the Choral competition has brought unity and togetherness among Churches in the Clan. “I want to thank God for what He has used Hon. Barr. Patrick Udomfang to do, to sustain the sponsorship of this competition for the past 9 years in commendable. He is an exceptional politician, an outstanding philanthropist and illustrious son of Midim Clan who has used his position to touch the lives of others,” Mr. Akamambet stated. He prayed God to guide and protect him, give him the enablement to continue to render selfless services to humanity.

Similarly, a former Councilor who represented Afaha Obong Ward I in Abak Legislative Council, Hon. Lawrence Udomeshiet congratulated Barr. Udomfang on the successful hosting of the 9th edition of Udomfang Foundation Unity Choir Cup Competition.

Hon Udomeshiet expressed happiness with the standard exhibited by the participating choir groups. “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate my Mentor and Principal, Hon. Barr. Patrick Udomfang for bringing brothers and sisters together through this competition.

It is welcome development because it brings unity and also promotes the gospel of Jesus. It has never happened in the history of Abak. My prayer is for God to continue to sustain this competition and give him the grace and enablement to continue to do more for his people,” the former Councilor prayed.

At the end of the Choir Competition, St. Michael Catholic Church, Urua Akpan Ibom emerged the overall winners. They carted home a giant trophy and a cash prize of N80,000 courtesy Barr. Patrick Udomfang.
