The Youths of Ikot Akpabio Village, Afaha Obong in Abak Local
government Area have conferred on the immediate past Transition Committee
Chairman of Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen the title of “Abai Ikot Akpabio”.
The event took place on Friday, 30th December, 2017 during the
maiden Ikot Akpabio Youth Day Celebration at Ikot Akpabio Village Square.
In his speech, the President, Ikot Akpabio Youth Association,
Prince Usen-Obong Joshua said the title conferred on Dr. Udosen was in
recognition of the achievements recorded by him while serving as the Transition
Committee Chairman for Abak.
Prince Joshua who listed some of the achievements to include;
felicitating the establishment of Tilapia Island Resort which according to him,
is one of the best recreational outfits in the state, completion of the Council
Secretariat Complex which he noted had been abandoned by previous
administrations in the area.
The President pointed out that relative peace being enjoyed in
the area was as a result of regular empowerment and engagement of youths in
positive venture.
Prince Joshua assured that the youths of Ikot Akpabio will
continue to support Dr. Emmanuel Udosen in his future aspiration.
Presenting the Award, the Village Head of Ikot Akpabio, Chief
Joshua Otu said the people of Ikot Akpabio will continue to identify
with what is good, stressing that Dr. Udosen recorded modest achievements while
serving as the Transition Committee Chairman.
The royal father expressed happiness that Dr. Udosen had
completed the abandoned Council Secretariat thereby proving a conducive
environment for their illustrious son and new executive Chairman, Barr. Imoh
Williams to operate.
Responding, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen beaming with enthusiasm, thanked
the youths and the entire people of Ikot Akpabio for the honour done him,
stressing that it will encourage him to do more for the development of the area
in particular and humanity at large.
