Ibom Plaza Traders Association pledges support for Udom Emmanuel  ... organizes solemn assembly soon
Following the recent ruling by Akwa Ibom State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, the Ibom Plaza Traders Association has pledged its total and unalloyed support to Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s administration. 
 
Speaking at the end of an executive meeting of the Association which took place over the weekend, The President, Comrade Edo Bassey Idiong said the executive and members of Ibom Plaza Traders Association are happy and satisfied with the achievements recorded by Mr. Udom Emmanuel within his first 100 days in office as the 4th Executive Governor of the state. 
Comrade Edo Idiong pointed out that irrespective of the outcome of the re”run election ordered by the Election Petition Tribunal in 18 Local government areas, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will still remain the Governor having recorded a landslide victory during the April 11, 2015 Gubernatorial election. 
 
The President hinted that Association which membership is drawn from the 31 local government areas of the state, will do everything possible defend the mandate overwhelmingly given to Mr. Udom Emmanuel by the generality of Akwa Ibom people.
 
He expressed the hope that the industrialization policy of Mr. Udom Emmanuel when becoming a reality, would create job opportunities to the many unemployed indigenes of the state. 
 
Comrade Idiong assured that the Association will continue to support Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s administration with prayers to succeed and called on members of other political parties to bury their difference and join hands together and support the Governor to succeed. 
 
He hinted that the association has concluded arrangement to organize a solemn assembly to pray for the governor and his administration. The President informed that the solemn assembly would be attended by a cream of personalities including top government functionaries, the political class and general public. 
 
Also speaking, the Patron of the Association, Mr. Victor Edet Udotong commended the State Governor for launching the “dakkada initiative” describing it as a clarion call for the people of the state to rise up and engage themselves in positive ventures, stressing that the Ibom Plaza Traders have already risen up.
 
He appealed to the State Government to re-open the plaza which had been closed down for the past four years.
 
Mr. Udotong noted that the plaza which was constructed by the state government will not be realized if it still remains closed.
 
The Patron commended the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Iniobong Essien for successfully piloting the affairs of the Ministry and assured him of the support of Ibom Plaza Traders Association.
 
Some of the Executive members present during the meeting were; Mr. Faith Ubokudom –Secretary, Mr. Mpam Monday-Treasurer, Mr. Stephen Donald- Financial Secretary Mr. Udauk Marcus – Welfare Officer, Mr. Tony Robert, Mr. Billy Friday, Sylvia Williams- Women Coordinator among others.
