The hierarchy of the Salvation Army (Akwa Ibom south west Division) with headquarters in Abak, has appointed Mr. Nsetip Akpabio, the first-ever youth Envoy (Ambassador) in the Division since its inception 15 years ago.
In a well-attended ceremony tagged: “Salvation Army (Akwa Ibom South West Division) 15th Anniversary Celebration Awards Service and Commissioning of the Divisional Envoy”, the Divisional Commander Major (Barr) Ezekiel Akpan said during the ceremony that Nsentip’s honour by the church was based on his unflinching, unrelented and untiring efforts exhibited by the new envoy.
According to the DC, Mr. Nsentip was not appointed Envoy, which is an equivalent of an Ambassador of the church based on pecuniary grounds but through God’s divine arrangement which is beyond human calculation.
He noted that the new Envoy prior to his recent upliftment, has been serving in God’s vine yard in various capacities.
For instance, the new Envoy had been commissioned junior soldier since 1981, singing company, the same year and later senior soldier in 1987.
The Envoy he noted, had been, apart from been song a songster, had also been commissioned an Assistant Young People Sergeant Major (AYPSM) as well as Honorary youth at heart and presently the Territorial Youth Patron, Nigeria Territory.
“To us, recalled a source, Nsentip’s steady raise to the rank of an Envoy had not come to us as a sudden occurrence, going by his painstaking and immense contributions to the church and humanity at large before now”, adding that, this promotion was long over due
“I intend to use my new office to actualize my pending dreams for the youths across the country, as an Envoy which is an equivalent of an Ambassador, to always protect the teeming youths. But they too, must be ready to born anew by shuning cultism and other negative vices”, Nsentip promised.
The occasion was attended by eminent personalities who were also honoured with various awards.
