IMC condemns Biafra protest, sues for peace

An advocacy organiza tions, the Interfaith  Media Centre- IMC, South -South Zone, has condemned the ongoing protest for Biafra by a section of people. 

IMC, in a press release, signed by the Zonal coordinator, Rustom Alexander, noted that the ongoing solidarity challenges facing the country are militating against the growth and development of the country. 
“The ongoing challenges facing the country through insurgency, terrorism, political motivated instability, post-elections outcome, civil unrest as a result of ongoing protest in different parts of the country by promoters of the sovereign state of Biafra as well as other conflict violent related crisis are in totality against the growth and development of Nigeria”.  

The group further called on religious, traditional political and community leaders to eschew violence and embrace peace in order to ensure unity, progress and development of the country, urging Nigeria’s to engage in a non- violence advocacy for national peace. 

“Furthermore, we enjoin stakeholders of various platform to join hands as we engage community leaders on a non-violence advocacy and strategic partnership for national peace against conflict violent of any kind towards the return of relative peace, stability, development and co-existence “.
