2,000 children to storm Uyo for AKBC children  carnival
No fewer than 2,000 children are expected to participate in the maiden elections of the AKBC children carnival on Saturday, December 26, 2015. 

This was revealed by the convener of the carnival, Mr. Sunday Umanah, while briefing newsmen recently in Uyo. 

Mr. Umanah, who is the chairman, National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), said the carnival will be the first of its kind. 

“I thought that a time has come in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s dakkada philosophy, for us to something that will attract people from other states. 


“That is why we chose to start with the children and we are looking at gathering at least 2,000 children at the carnival village. We want to host one of the biggest children carnival “Mr Umanah noted that it was time for Akwa Ibom to start showcasing her rich culture to the world through events carnivals. 

He disclosed that having worked with the children for many years, carnival will be another opportunity to promote the children and add value to the economy of the state. 

“ If we can attract tourists to the state through the carnival, it will definitely boost the economy of the state. I am also certain that carnival will be an avenue for parents to have fun with their children”.  

While calling on cooperate organizations and individuals to support the carnival, he assured parents that adequate security will be put in place to ensure the safety of their children.
