We don’t want somebody who will go and sleep in the senate - Ignatius Ukpe

A Lagos-based business man, Mr.  Ignatius Ukpe has expressed optimism that if voted into office, Chief Godswill Akpabio will give the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District effective and purposeful representation in the Senate.

Mr. Ukpe who spoke with journalists in Uyo, explained that having performed marvelously well as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in the past eight years, Chief Akpabio’s sojourn in the upper chambers of the National Assembly would be of immense benefit to the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in particular and the state in general.
The business magnate stated that the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District do not want somebody who would go to the Senate and sleep instead of contributing to the debate on the floor of the House, thereby attracting dividends of democracy to the people of the Senatorial District “He who the cap fits, let him wear it. We don’t want somebody who will go there and sleep. We want a vibrant Senator who will go there and bring dividends of democracy to our people. I believe Chief Akpabio is going to make a difference in the senate”, he reasoned. 

On who succeeds Chief Akpabio at the Hilltop Mansion, Mr. Ukpe who is the Chapter Coordinator of Transformation Initiative for the Empowerment of Akwa Ibom people, Lagos State Chapter, described Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the best choice for Akwa Ibom State, stressing that he will sustain the uncommon transformation that is being witnessed in the state. “We support Mr. Udom Emmanuel in totality. We will continue to mobilize and give him the needed support because he is going to bring more changes to the state. He will sustain the uncommon transformation”, the political chieftain stated. 

He expressed the hope that as a vibrant youngman who has international connections, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will attract industries which will create employment to the teeming youths. The businesses magnate called on the people of the state to join hands together and support Mr. Udom Emmanuel to the Hilltop Mansion. 

Mr. Ukpe advised the people of the state to shun opposition and vote for PDP candidates at all levels for the sustenance of the dividends of democracy which he noted is being witnessed in the country under the leadership of DR Goodluck Jonathan and Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of Chief Godswill Akpabio.
