Eket Ward 4 urban affirms support for Udom, PDP
The people of Eket Urban ward four has reaffirmed her position to vote for Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state. They took this position during a meeting of the ward called, hosted and presided over by the member representing Eket state constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayang Akanimo Ayang.

Ayang while addressing the crowd that turned out for the meeting advised the ward not to remain in opposition as they have never been an opposing ward. He referred them to the last general elections were they voted the PDP all through. He said, it is not in the spirit of sportsmanship for anybody to return the ward or Local Government Area to the opposition after losing nomination of the party. He charged the Ward to vote massively for PDP at all levels.

The Eket lawmaker charged all indigenes and residents of the ward to ensure that they place all hands on deck to ensure the victory of PDP candidates during the forthcoming elections .
He thereafter used that opportunity to introduce the Eket State constituency flagbearer, Mr. David Lawrence Udofa to the ward and urged them to see Mr. Udofa as his successor in waiting. He appealed to them to throw their weight of support behind him.

All members of ward four however declared that they were going to support the PDP and that they will vote for the emergence of Udom Emmanuel as the next Governor of the state. They also passed a vote of confidence on all PDP candidates saying that they represent the future of Akwa Ibom state.

Speaking at the meeting, Obong (Dr) Inam James Inam encouraged members of the ward to put behind them all grievances and mixed feelings. Dr. Inam urged the people to work towards the victory of the PDP from the presidency to the House of Assembly positions. He further appreciated Hon. Ayang Akanimo Ayang for coming back home to chart the course for a political direction for the ward by putting his resources for the people despite not being able to pick the second term ticket of the party for his House of Assembly ambition. He described Ayang Ayang as a leader who has the people at heart and urged all to emulate Ayang’s example. He condemned those who used the Party to win previous elections and abandoned it after losing nomination.

On his part, Gen. Etukudoh, (Rtd) said the party; PDP has brought out the best candidate at all levels. He added that after sixteen years of Governance, the PDP is poised to do more for the benefits of the citizenry.

Rev. Daniel Akwatang who began his message by words from the scripture said that power belong to God and that God gives it to whom he likes. He said Udom has been favoured by God to lead Akwa Ibom state from 2015 and that the people of the ward should not be left out of the favour. He poured encomiums on Ayang Akanimo Ayang for still taking the lead in his support for Udom Emmanuel despite not getting the second term ticket of the party. He said Ayang’s example is the quality of a leader who is made for today and tomorrow. He however appreciated the Assemblyman for giving political direction to the ward

Other speakers who spoke at the meeting were, the Ward Four Chairman Bassey Usoro who pledged his continuous loyalty to the party and also promised to use his position to ensure that the PDP wins convincingly in the ward.

Amongst those present at the meeting were, Hon Imoh Ebitu councilor for the ward, Secretary to the council Mrs. Ethel David, Hon Sammy Edoho, Engr. Samuel Owo, Barr Akpa Michael, Victor Etukudoh, Obong Eshiet Okpok, Hon Grace Ntuk, Prince Afaha and all ward Excos amongst others.
It could be recalled that Eket Urban ward four had during last PDP governorship nomination filed two aspirants Sen. Helen Esuene and Dr. Samuel Udonsak for the position of the Governorship of Akwa Ibom State but all lost to Udom Emmanuel.

While Helen Esuene has since moved on to emerge the candidate of Labour Party, Dr. Udonsak opted to remain in the party.
