Udom/Moses 2015 campaign organization condemns political violence

Udom/Moses 2015 campaign organization condemns political violence
The Udom/ Moses2015 Campaign Organization condemns in no uncertain terms, the political violence that led to the reported death of Rt. Hon. (Obong) Okon Uwah, a former deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly and APC Candidate for  Ukanafun State Constituency in the forthcoming elections.

We have always stated our revulsion and abhorrence to the deployment of violence as an instrument for settling political scores or the advancement of one’s electoral fortunes. Political contestation should be an enterprise that is based on ideas and a persuasive platform that is people-centric. That philosophy informs and shapes our campaign which is broadly outlined in our Platform and Five-Point Manifesto that includes:

job creation,  elimination of  vestiges of poverty, wealth creation,  economic and political inclusion and infrastructural consolidation and expansion, and we are happy that the good people of Akwa Ibom state having listened to our Candidate articulates the key elements  that are enshrined in the Five Point agenda at campaign rallies and  through mass media, have made the solemn pledge to vote Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as their next Executive Governor, come April 11, 2015.

Our Candidate- a man of Christian masculinity and faith, believes in the sanctity of the human life and is of the deep conviction that violence should have no place in our political culture, and this approach has attended the manner he has conducted his campaign, which so far, has been devoid of smear and sleaze, blackmail, demonization of opponents or other forms of subterfuge and chicanery. The accent of his campaign is anchored on Sustainable Development, hence the mass appeal he enjoys across the socio-political spectrum of the state.

We commiserate with the family of the late Obong Okon Uwah and pray God to give them the strength to bear this sad and irreparable loss.

We urge the law enforcement agents to bring to justice those behind this dastardly act.
