2015: Akwa Ibom Councilors adopt Udom Emmanuel, assure of victory in all 329 wards for PDP

Grass root legislators  representing the   329 wards in Akwa Ibom State under the aegis of Conference of Akwa Ibom State Councillors, and their former colleagues, Tuesday, unanimously endorsed, Mr. Udom Emmanuel as their sole candidate in the April 11th, gubernatorial election. 

Conveying decision of the group to the PDP governorship candidate during a solidarity visit to his campaign office in Uyo, the Chairman of the Councillors, Hon. Charles Bassey, said the body which comprises Councillors from the 329 political wards in the state were confident in the ability of Mr. Udom Emmanuel to pilot the affairs of the state to the desired destination.
The Councillors pledged their readiness to deliver the 329 wards in the state for the PDP, saying already they had since commenced grass root sensitization and mobilization campaign for the victory of all PDP candidates in the forthcoming election.

High point of the interactive session was an overwhelming voice vote in support of the endorsement of Udom’s candidacy by the Councillors following a motion moved by the Councillor representing Ikpa Ikono Ward 2 in Mkpat Enin local government area, Hon. Nkereuwem Okon James, and seconded by Hon. Inemesit Ubok Udom, Councillor for Mbiaso, ward 1, in Nsit Ubium legislative Council.

Accepting the endorsement, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, commended the serving and former Councillors on their decision to support his aspiration, and promised never to disappoint the people of the state if he emerges victorious at the polls.

He took time to unveil his development agenda for the entire state to the Councillors, saying he was satisfied that the endorsement was coming from representatives of the grass root.

The governorship candidate used the opportunity to enlighten them on why they should support the re election of President Jonathan to enable him sustain the tempo of transformation at the national level.
