 General Elections: Okobo Stakeholders drum  support for Felicia Bassey, PDP candidates
With less than a  week to the general elections, scheduled for Saturday March 28, relevant Stakeholders in Okobo LGA have buried their differences to form a formidable front towards the electoral victory of all candidates contesting elections on the platform of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

Canvassing support for the chairman of Okobo LGA and the Okobo State Constituency Candidate, Princess Felicia Bassey, PDP Governorship candidate, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, Oron Federal Constituency Standard bearer, Elder Nse Ekpenyong, Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District candidate, Chief Nelson Effiong, and President Goodluck Jonathan, a political Chieftain in the State and Member PDP State Caucus, Chief Jerry Okpo, affirmed that Okobo had no breathing space for opposition party to thrive.
Speaking during Princess Felicia Bassey Campaign Organization visit to ten wards in Okobo, recently, Chief Okpo declared that Okobo had immensely benefitted from the PDP-led government in terms of political appointments of indigenes of the area into sensitive offices and execution of life-touching project in some areas.

 Chief Okpo who is also a community leader in Offi Ward II,  used the forum to thank Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio for ceding the governorship slot to Eket senatorial district in the spirit of fair play, justice and equity, and for providing a detribalized successor in Udom Emmanuel to consolidate on his uncommon transformation.

 Chief Okpo who massively mobilized PDP faithful and supporters to the visit of the chairman expressed confidence in the capacity, competence and pedigree of Princess Felicia Bassey in giving effective representation in the House of Assembly. 

On their parts, former Speaker, AKHA and former National Assembly Member for Oron federal Constituency, Chief Peter Linus Umoh,  prominent sons of Okobo, Dr. (Barr.) Effiong Osung, Dr. Friday Antai, Director General of Princess Felicia Bassey Campaign Organization, Mr. Asuquo Koffi, SA to the NDDC MD On Finance, Chief (Barr) Effiong Akwa, former Council chairmen in Okobo, Chief Stephen Bassey and Mr. Pius Bassey, Okobo PDP chapter chairman, Mr. Bassey Ntekim and his predecessor, Mr. Sunday Uloh, were unanimous in drumming support for all candidates contesting elections on the platform of PDP. 

In her response, the Okobo LGA chairman and Okobo State constituency hopeful, who was visibly overwhelmed with joy over the show of support and solidarity, immensely thanked all the relevant stakeholders in Okobo for throwing their weight behind her aspiration and other PDP candidates, and assured that the PDP-led government would certainly turn around the economic fortunes of Okobo people through execution of life-touching projects. 

Princess Bassey remarked that Udom Emmanuel has a better blueprint to transform the landscape of Oro nation, and prevailed upon Okobo people to accept Udom Emmanuel as their son.
