Union, Royal Fathers extol monarch on staff presentation

The leadership of   Ekid Peoples  Union  (EPU) and some royal fathers in Eket have extolled the sterling qualities of the paramount ruler of Eket, Edidem Etim C. Abia as he receives the staff of office.

The group recalled the immense contributions of the monarch to Ekid Nation as the Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the union, as a pillar and custodian of wisdom, an industrialist and an accomplished financial manager and a brilliant and cerebral brain box of Ekid history. 

Prof. Asindi Asindi, National President, Ekid Peoples Union, disclosed these at Uyo after the swearing-in and presentation of staff of office to the monarch by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

He reminded the monarch that Ekid nation expects him to bring these special qualities to bear in the discharge of his duties in his new position.

Asindi applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for raising the status of members of the traditional institution by admitting renowned intellectuals, academicians and other professionals to bring our monarchs at par with their contemporaries nationally. 


The University don, retorted Ekid Nation will be proud to be guided by this very highly educated public servant whose pedigree and charisma stood him higher above other contestants.

“Therefore use your privilege position and contact to attract industries to Eket as well as help reactivate the moribund ones to provide employment for our teeming youths and to boost the local economy”, Asindi concluded.

In his remarks a member of the Eket Traditional Council and village head of Ekpene Afaha Eket, Chief Enim Ekanim thanked God for the successful selection and presentation of staff of office to the monarch, even though the process was not easy but averred, he is acceptable by all.

He urged the Attah of Ekid to accommodate all members in his administration especially the decision making process and advice to reign with the fear of God.

Chief Emmanuel Eshiet of Ebana, remarked Obong Abia is the best and most qualified material for the exalted position now, added, he deserve the crown.
