Environmental Sanitation: SSG, T’ Chairman warn Ikot Ekpene residents

Last Saturday’s Sanitation exercise in Ikot Ekpene L.G.A was unique as the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Sir Etekamba Umoren personally supervised the exercise with the transition Chairman of the area, Hon. David Umanah.

The SSG was however not fully satisfied at Urua Oto axis as traders were seen idly around the market premises during the exercise.

He instructed the chairman to arrest the situation from next month’s exercise as such was inimical to government’s objectives.

He was satisfied as residents complied in other areas visited and expressed delight even as he thanked the transition chairman and his members for their proactiveness.

In the same vein, the transition chairman, Hon. David Umanah, the DPO, Mr. Eloka (CSP) handed down a strong term warnings to all traders at Urua –Oto to stay off the Market on sanitation days until 10.am but should rather gather all their dirt’s outside the market on Friday evening prior to sanitation day.
