ROYAL SNUB ! As Anwatim, Ekpeyong, others Boycott Royal invitation -Victor Isong lauded.

In what could be described as a deliberate attempt to neglect, disregard and disrespect the traditional institution, the Executive Chairman of Ini LGA, Hon. Etetim Anwatim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on youth mobilization Mr. Emmanuel Ekpeyong and a number of others who have indicated interest in the state constituency seat come 2015 have recently ignored their invitation by the Traditional Rulers Council.

The meeting which was slatted for Friday 19th of September, 2014 at the instance of the Traditional Rulers Council members and presided over by the Paramount Ruler, HRM Ntoeng Effiong Udo Akpan was well attended by the royal fathers while their expected guests saw nothing tangible to be discoursed with the monarchs except Mr. Victor Isong who sacrificed his tight schedule to grace the invitation. The paper learnt on good authority that the said meeting was to create a resonating platform to institute robust relationship with the contenders as well as offer royal blessings to forestall electoral conflict in the coming elections.

However, the royal fathers who were delayed longer than necessary by their supposed visitors got provoked asking what was becoming of their children in a meeting they were fully and dully informed. The monarchs unanimously averred that it was unbecoming of their visitors to have ignored their invitation without a representative or even an excuse. They reasoned that royal blessings were not meant for disobedient children, stressing that apart from ignoring their invitation, their actions were capable of incurring the wrath of the gods.

The royal fathers in the council however lauded Mr. Victor Isong for responding to their invitation despite the short notice given to him. They described him as a focused and visionary leader vested with outstanding quality who could be entrusted with public responsibility. Earlier, the Chairman of the Traditional Ruler’s Council and Paramount Ruler of Ini, HRM. Ntoeng Effiong U. Akpan, paid glowing tributes to Mr. Isong describing him as humble, dependable and a God-fearing statesman who deserve to be supported and encouraged in his quest for the State Assembly seat. He observed that Ini Local Government has come of age to elect credible leaders into positions of responsibility, adding that the TRC was pleased with his humble nature.

Undoubtedly, Mr. Victor Isong remains a rallying point as far as the political future of Ini is concern, as he has been tested and proven in so many facets of life as a symbol of truth and unity for Ini people.

It would be recalled that a week ago, Elders of Ini in their separate opinions eulogized Mr. Isong for his interest in the race owing to his exceptional passion of attending to the yearning of his people.
