Barely two months to the People’s Democratic Party PDP Governorship primaries for 2015 scheduled to hold on 29 November 2014, over 830 socio political groups in Akwa Ibom state have endorsed and adopt the Secretary to State Government, Mr Udom Emmanuel as their sole candidate for the gubernatorial election in the state, and urged him to resign his appointment on or before 20th October 2014 according to the PDP guidelines as released and contest the primary.
Barely two months to the People’s Democratic Party PDP Governorship primaries for 2015 scheduled to hold on 29 November 2014, over 830 socio political groups in Akwa Ibom state have endorsed and adopt the Secretary to State Government, Mr Udom Emmanuel as their sole candidate for the gubernatorial election in the state, and urged him to resign his appointment on or before 20th October 2014 according to the PDP guidelines as released and contest the primary.
The groups made the endorsement recently under the auspices of Transformation Initiative for the Empowerment of Ibom people and Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance ACA during their formal ratification of groups under the two main bodies which took place in Uyo.
Speaking at the event, the International President of ACA, Pastor Andrew Uwanta extolled the good leadership qualities of Mr Udom Emmanuel, and described him as a blessing to Akwa Ibom people.
He said that Akwa Ibom is so blessed to have a man like Udom Emmanuel who has real love for the people of the state and passion for development, coupled with his capacity to attract investors to the state at no cost. Pastor Uwanta maintained that Udom Emmanuel when elected into office will give the state an experienced, effective, and purposeful leadership not experimental government.
He assured all groups under ACA that they have the capacity to win the PDP primary for Udom Emmanuel, and that ACA does not want any consensus because they have the strength and all it takes to win any election.
The International President liken ACA in Akwa Ibom to Transformation Ambassadors of Nigerian TAN at the Federal level, adding that ACA is currently working in synergy with TAN, and is carried along in all the activities of TAN which has made ACA one of the leading and most strongest affiliate groups under TAN. He also said that working with other groups, ACA has the capacity to deliver Udom for governorship and President Goodluck Jonathan for President in Akwa Ibom state, and urge all groups to be faithful and committed, that he has never failed to deliver even from the time of late, Obong Akpan Isemin to the current Speaker of the state House of Assembly and many others.
