In a bid to move the State Chapter
of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) forward and in line with the
directive of the National Headquarters, the State executive of the organization
has been re-constituted.
At the end of the executive
council meeting which took place in Uyo recently, Mr. Uwem Ekoh was appointed
as the new Chairman of the organization.
Addressing newsmen at the end of
the meeting, the State Secretary of the organization, Mr. Isonguyo Iniodu
explained that the newly constituted executive will be inaugurated soon by the
National President of the organization, Dr. Yussuf Gawuna.
The State Chapter of YSFON will
also use the occasion to honour some personalities who have contributed to the
development of sports in the State.
Among those to be honoured
include, Executive Chairman of Ikot Abasi, Arch. Ufot UdoInyang, Executive
Chairman, Ikot Ekpene local government area, Obongawan Gloria Useh, the State
Director of Sports, Coach Aniedi Dickson among others.
Meanwhile, the State Chapter of
the Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria has commended the Chairman, Ikot Abasi
local government area, Arch. Ufot UdoInyang for sponsoring Ikot Abasi local
government Under – 17 football team to the recently concluded Governor Ibrahim
Shema National Under – 17 Boys Soccer tournament in Katsina.
