Chris Attoh |
Last week, Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh announced his exit from popular TV series Tinsel. Attoh who plays the role of ‘Kwame Mensah’, says he is leaving to pursue other career interests.
‘The last seven years on Tinsel
have been an incredible journey and experience for me. Working with M-Net was
phenomenal and it took a lot of deliberation but I have decided to pursue other
career interests‘, Attoh revealed in a statement through a South Africa
based management, Waka Talent.
Gbenro Ajibade |
Attoh, we are told is leaving the
M-NET produced show to further a career in TV and movie production. He worked
as a reporter and TV host before delving into acting.
Meanwhile, another popular face at
Tinsel Gbenro Ajibade has been suspended from the show. Insiders told NET
reliably that Ajibade was suspended because he failed to show up on set for a
sequence of shoots which involved his character ‘Soji Bankole.’
Apparently, Gbenro traveled to the
US for the Africa Fashion Week New York where he worked as a runway model.
According to inside sources, he was well aware of his pending role at Tinsel
but still decided to travel out of the country.
‘Gbenro knew he had roles to play
but categorically told us he was still going to travel‘, a source who works in
production says.
It is unclear when exactly
his suspension took effect.
Calls and E-mails put through to
the actor were not replied. A director on the series George Kura also did not
respond to his phone calls.
