Ememobong making his address

Students
studying in tertiary institutions have been urged to always take their studies
serious in order to be able to represent Akwa Ibom State both in national and
international competitions.
The
Special Assistant to the governor on student’s matters, Comrade Ini Ememobong
gave the charge in Uyo during a breakfast meeting with the winners of the 11th
Olatunji Odegbami National Information Technology competition for tertiary
institutions in the federation which took place at Ogun State last month.

Comrade
Ini Ememobong while encouraging the winners to study hard, said the meeting was
to appreciate the effort of the three Akwa Ibom students that won first, second
and third prizes of the competition even as he advised them not to see
themselves as they have arrived but should rather continue to study hard for
challenging competitions ahead.
He
assured the student champions that the state government is determined to
support every hard working student to grow to become real champion in their
different field of studies, adding that the government will soon commence
economic programmes for all the students in the state,
Comrade
Ini Ememobong promised to sponsor and send the three winners for training on
web design and management which according to him will go a long way to aid them
in their field of study.
Speaking
earlier, the chairman of Nigeria Computer Society, Akwa Ibom State chapter Mr.
Bassey Esang congratulated the winners for emerging champions in the quiz
competition.
Mr.
Esang also congratulated Comrade Ini Ememobong on his recent appointment as the
Special Assistant to the governor on students’ matters even as he also thanked
the governor for always supporting Akwa Ibom students.
Also
speaking, the secretary of the state chapter of Nigeria Computer Society, Mr.
Joseph Okon thanked the state government for impacting in the professional body
which according to him computer society is mother body to all ICTs in Nigeria.
Responding,
the first winner, Emmanuel Essiet thanked the SA on students matters for the
show of love and appreciation by hosting a breakfast meeting as well as promising
to send them for web design training which will help to acquire more knowledge
in computer studies.
Meanwhile,
Ebenezer Ekpenyong emerged second while Miss Aniebiet Eyo took third place in
the competition.
High
point of the meeting was the donation of cash prizes to the winners by the
member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of
Assembly, Hon. Onofiok Luke.
