CAKA advises Gov. Akpabio on successor BY EMMANUEL AKPAN

Ahead of the 2015 elections, a socio political organization in the state “Coalition for Akwa Ibom Agenda (CAKA)” has made a passionate appeal to the state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio to pay deaf ears to insinuations by the opposition but should monitor and show interest in the process of electing who will succeed him so that his transformation agenda may not suffer a set back immediately he steps out of office.

Speaking at Ikpa Ikot Ubo ward 3 in Ibiono Ibom LGA, the patron of the group in Ibiono Ibom, Engr. Kufre Ekong Inyang said for the successful continuation of the uncommon transformation programme of the present administration, it is pertinent for the governor to ignore what he termed “negative ranting” by people whose stock in trade is always destructively criticizing the achievements of the governor and are all out to freeze his lofty ideas in the cool, he should remain focus and take a critical look on the pedigree of those who are presently jostling for his office and throw his weight behind someone he is sure will continue from where he will stop so that the state will continue to benefit as well as enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Engr. Kufre Inyang who is a strong believer of the power rotation, noted that having gone this far “it will not be to the best for us if we degenerate to zero point if by 2015 someone without the requisite experience and who has not understand the agenda of the governor is elected to govern the state.
On the rotation of power, he emphasized that it was worthwhile to give Eket Senatorial District specifically somebody from Oro nation the opportunity for justice, fairness and equity emphasizing that the oro nation has contributed greatly to the development of the state right from the core state movement era.

He appealed to members of the group to avoid mortgaging their conscience because of money but should put up their best in spreading the philosophy of the group to the nooks and crannies of the state. He later presented enlightenment materials to the international coordinator of the group Hon. Edeke O. Edeke.

Receiving the materials, Hon. Edeke Edeke thanked Engr. Kufre Inyang and Ibiono Ibom chapter of the group for setting the pace and distinguishing itself among other chapters. He said the group which stands for justice, equity and oneness is originally packaged to bring to the state the desire need to love one another and also give equal opportunity to everybody despite where that person comes from.

Hon. Edeke who maintained that Akwa Ibom standing on the tripod, there is need for all the component areas to enjoy their God given resources that abound in the state including power.

In his comment, the Ibiono Ibom chapter coordinator of CAKA, Mr. Usen Umoren charged members of the group especially the ward coordinators to put their best in propagating the message of the group and should see their selves as agents of salvation. Mr. Umoren assured the national exco of the group of his determination and willingness to take the group to an enviable level in the state until their target is achieved.
