Members of a socio political organization in the state, Uruan Democratic Renaissance Group have been charged to key into the vision of the group which is to mobilize the electorates for the actualization of the second term mandate of the state governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

The chairman, Board of trustees , BOT of the group, Mr Okon Okon gave the charge, Saturday at Town Hall,  Adadia and Town Hall, Nung Ikono Ufok, headquarters of South East and South South Uruan during the inauguration of ward executive members of the group in the  area.

Okon who is the chairman, Akwa Ibom Internal Revenue Service said the sole aim of the group is to synergize with other groups and the political class in Uruan and the entire state to see to the realization of the Udom Emmanuel second term mandate.

According to the BOT chairman, “Governor  Udom Emmanuel is the subject matter of Uruan Democratic Renaissance Group” stressing that without the governor the group will not exist.
He described the inauguration of the ward executives of the group as the right step in the right direction as it will help propel the members for the task ahead stressing that they have now been emboldened to go down to the unit levels and mobilize for governor Udom Emmanuel who he described as the best thing to have happen to Uruan and the entire state.

He described the governor as ‘a talk and do governor’ who according to him as put his words into action  by constructing the Anua- Adadia road which work is ongoing pointing out that this singular road  used to be a recurrent campaign ploy by previous governments insisting that things have turn around in the area.
The IRS boss further listed impactful and life touching government projects  which the governor has initiated in the area to include the Cattle Ranch there in Adadia, the Prime hatchery in Mbiaya and the reconstruction of the Methodist Hospital, Ituk  Mbang.

“What the governor has started he must surely complete and do more” stressing that Uruan occupies a central position in the industrial development map of the hence the major reason the governor must go back for a second term to actualize all these laudable programmes he has for the area.
Mobilizing for the governor’s second term he insisted was their own little way of showing gratitude to the governor for what he has done and will continue to do for Uruan as a people.

He described the group as a macrocosm of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP adding that the party in the area was very happy with the role the group was playing in mobilizing the electorates for the 2019 elections
Earlier, the two zonal leaders of the PDP in the area, Obong Kingsley Orok and Obong Augustine Effiong  had commended the BOT chairman for his love for his people which they said has manifested in the way he accommodate them in the politics of the state.

They stressed that his professional experience has helped sharpen his disposition towards politics pointing out that the result has been tremendous and impactful within a very short period.

They used the occasion to commend the state governor for appointing him to superintend over the board of internal revenue averring that this has greatly improved the internally generated revenue base of the state which in turn has contributed positively to the economic stability of the state.

His appointment, they also said has brought stability to the politics of the area as he has used his entry into the politics to galvanize the different interest in the area to pursue only one common purpose which is the return of Governor Udom Emmanuel as the governor of the state next year.   

They charged the group and the PDP in the area to reciprocate the good gesture of the governor by making sure they mobbed all the votes in Uruan in favour of the governor in 2019 stressing that Uruan must return the PDP with the highest number of votes in the general election.

Also speaking, the chapter chairman of PDP, M Obot Etim appreciated the group volunteering to assist the party in the forth -coming election   towards the actualization of the second term mandate of the state governor stressing that a vote for Udom by the people of Uruan was a vote for Uruan itself.

He charged the group act according to its slogan which is “action” averring that politics is all about delivery even as he vowed that the party will help Mr Okon Okon to deliver Udom Emmanuel in 2019.

He described the inauguration of the ward executives members as their real initiation into full time grassroots politics maintaining that election is always conducted at unit levels hence the need for them to go down and canvass for votes for the party to justify the trust the BOT chairman has in them.

Responding on behalf  of the inaugurated ward executives, the ward coordinator, South 3 , Mr Bassey Edet commended the chairman for finding them worthy to serve and promised to work assiduously to see to not only the success of the group but that of the party and all her candidates in the 2019 general elections.

Other dignitaries present at the occasion were Lt Col Okon Etim Nyong{rtd} , Obong Peter Ekpe Atakpo, Obongawan Regina Willie,  Etubom Henry Okokon Obot, Mr Bassey Bassey, Mr Awawa  Ekaenang and a host of others.
