Ahead of the 2019 general election, The Compendium of Ini politics, Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, Member representing Ini State constituency and the chief Whip, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Friday 13th July 2018 met with  ward Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party Ini Chapter to declare his intention to re-contest for Ini state constituency seat come 2019.

Hon. Bassey who was received by the chapter chairman of the party  Mr. Emmanuel Umah alongside other political stakeholders from the area at the party Secretariat thanked the Party for always standing by him since 2015.He commended the leadership of the party for maintaining peace and unity, however,  declared his intension to seek reelection as 2019  general election approaches. here him “ I am here to present myself to you as a messenger, send me and I will go and deliver, I  promise to bring more development to Ini people if re-elected “

The lawmaker furthered urged his constituents to remain steadfast towards supporting the administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel, commending the Governor’s developmental stride in Ini Local Government with life touching projects which he described as “Best of it’s kind” and  charged the people of Ini to support Governor Udom Emmanuel to continue with his good works beyond 2019.

The Chapter chairman of the party, Hon. Emmanuel Umah, thanked Hon. Emmanuel Bassey for his  magnanimity and transformational stride in the area “you were sent to  represent us as  the party’s slot, your performance is outstanding i must commend, we at the local Government level are satisfied with your  performance, you deserve another opportunity” he added.

PDP Elder and Statesman, Obong  Bassey Inuaeyen lauded Hon. Bassey for delivering dividends of Democracyto his people within his first term in office and promised to support his second term bid, hear him

“Hon. Bassey’s  performance at the House of Assembly is commendable, I must appreciate his effort towards repositioning Ini,  He is unstoppable come 2019" -

Dr. Glory Edet, Commissioner for Women affairs and Social Welfare thanked the lawmaker and described his representation as the best thing to happen to the people of Ini and pledged her unalloyed support to his second term aspiration.

Chief Ukata Sam on his part commended Hon. Bassey’s Leadership style and thank him for not letting his people down.
