Ukanafun insecurity: Hoodlums burn down Akpan Assiek Market
*Shot two dead, kidnap one, leave a prophet, many others in critical condition
*Security operatives set ablaze house of hoodlum’s parent
*Rob, dismisses churches in ward eleven
Barley few weeks after the rumors on social media and other mediums that the newly troops of Nigerian military deployed to Ukanafun have shot dead about 30 hoodlums in the area, the most popular Akpan Assiek market located at Ikot Akpan Afaha village has been robbed, destroyed and set ablaze by gunmen suspected to be gang members of the late dreaded terrorist, Akaninyene Jumbo (AKA Iso Akpafid) who terrorized the area for more than a year before he was finally gunned down by security operatives.
THE INK gathered that the hoodlums started their evil operation in the market at about 11:00 PM on Wednesday 28th March, 2018. Our source who confided with our reporter said the hoodlums used one Hilux and many motorcycles for the operation.
They burnt down cars, motorcycles and other valuables in the market.
In his words “ They started the operation at about 11:00 PM . When I was viewing them inside the bush there were up to forty in number with well harmed riffles.
They shot dead three people including a security guard at timber market.
They kidnapped one Mr. Nsikak Henry popularly known as (SCATTER). As I am talking to you now the General Oversear of True Zion Miracle Ministry, Prophet Oku Moses is in the hospital with a critical condition, owing to how the hoodlums beat him up”. He said.
Our source also thanked the Executive chairman of Ukanfun Local Government council, Mr. Uko Idiong for paying a visit to the victims and the security operatives for their quick intervention. He called on the security operatives to expedite action in bringing the hoodlums to book.
In the related development, security operatives on Thursday 29th March , 2018 set ablaze a house belonging to one Mr. Uduak Jacob (AKA IKOKU) at Ikot Ndot village for one of his sons, Nyakno Uduak allegedly being a member of the cult group responsible for the insecurity in Ukanafun.
Our paper also gathered that the suspect’s father is currently in the police net.
In another development, churches in ward eleven were dismissed before time on Sunday 1st April, 2018 by hoodlums as they took their evil operation to the ward.
Our reporter gathered that they robbed the area , carted away valuables such as motorcycles, Generators, etc.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Odiko Macdon Ogbeche could not be reach to comment on the matter.
