How I survived death on 2nd August, 2001
The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Mr. Imo Okon has explained how God saved his life on 2nd August 2001 from a ghastly Motor Accident.
The Chairman made this confession Monday when he spoke to newsmen and outlined programmes billed for the celebration of his golden Jubilee celebration.
Imo Okon said, he has no regret in life at fifty following what God has done for him.
He recalled that on 2nd of August 2001, he was driving alone from PortHarcourt to Uyo for the purpose of acting as Chairman on the occasion o a Traditional Marriage. He stated that when he arrived HOFACO, he ran into a very terrible accident that consumed his car. He said, he came out unscratched from the vehicle and ever since then he has remained very grateful to God.
He said the police were invited to the scene of the accident and arrested a lot of people who gave information about the accident because of the belief that nobody survived the accident.
Speaking on his life as a kid, Okon stressed that while growing up as a child, he had all the good teachings and doctrines he could ever been given and that really prepared him to face the future of life.
He added that at the age of 36, he was ordained an Elder of Qua Iboe Church (United Evangelical Church) and as a member of Boys Brigade, he could not have chosen anything better than a good way of life.
Meanwhile, the itinerary for the 50th birthday celebration of the Uyo Council Chairman indicates that there shall be a novelty Football match between Nsit Ubium and Uyo U-20 football teams on Tuesday 3rd April, 2019 at 4pm.
The match is billed for 4pm. A medical outreach is billed to hold on Friday, 6th April, 2019 at Qua Iboe Church, Open space Nung Ukim Ikono, Uyo. There shall be a family interaction and celebration of Hon Imoh Okon’s mother at 85.
An evening of Hymns shall take place on Saturday 7th April, 2018 by 4pm. The venue shall be the family compound at Nnung Ukim, Ikono, Uyo LGA.
A Special Thanksgiving service and foundation laying ceremony of a new church Cathedral shall be held on Sunday 8th April, 2018.
It shall take place at United Evangelical Church, founded as Qua Iboe Church. The church service is billed for 10:00am.
The release invites all to be a part of the weeklong celebration.
