Plastic Industry to open soon - Ufot Ebong

The Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Mr.Ufot Ebong has said, the government of Mr.Udom Emmanuel is very active in infrastructural, human development and security.

Ufot Ebong who spoke with our Reporter in Uyo said, the State government through Akwa Ibom Employment and Enterprise Scheme(AKEES) has created jobs for young men and women in the State.

From the Bureau of Technical matters,he also said, they are poised to ensuring that all government contracts follow due process, that is why there are no cases of budget padding in the State.

Recently, we had called all the Interventionist agencies in the State that are either in partnership with the Federal Government or World Bank, to tell us how they have been contracting out certain things in the State, and areas, where we were not satisfied, we ask for a change. Those are our ministerial responsibilities we will continue to do. Ufot Ebong said.

He also said, the State Government will commission the plastic factory at Itam industrial area in May, which will create jobs for more Akwa Ibomites, which materials for the commencement has arrived the State and awaiting to be unpacked.

On a personal note, on the purported list of looters from the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Ebong said, you cannot call someone a looter, when the court has not pronounced the person guilty.
What if you say someone is a looter, and the court says the person is not guilty, you begin to look for a way to amend the damage you had caused. Ufot Ebong queried.

He stated that, his wish is for the Federal Government to at least do something in the State, out of their many promises, like the reviving of ALSCON at Ikot Abasi, which will help the State a lot.

He charged Akwa Ibom people to maximize the opportunity and get into supply of materials to the factories in the State.

In his Easter message to Akwa Ibomites, he said, Christians should be Christlike, and reflect on the teachings of Christ who has shown us love.
