Immediate past Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan has sent a letter of appreciation to the Governor Godswill Akpabio thanking him for the opportunity he gave him to serve in the capacity of a commissioner for finance for about seven years.
A release dated 24/04/2014 is personally signed by Bassey Albert and addressed and sent to the Governor and made available to THE INK over the weekend, Bassey Albert in a statement noted that he wish to thank God Almighty for His grace and place on record his deepest sense of gratitude to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Chief Godswill Akpabio, CON for the singular privilege of his appointment to the service of the state as commissioner for Finance for about seven years.
The release further reads in part “I also wish to express on a personal note my sincere appreciation to your Excellency for the wonderful opportunity of working closely with you which I am convinced was borne out of mutually shared trust, confidence and your belief in my professional capacity, character and integrity. It also afforded me the greatest moment of guidance and mentorship.”
Bassey Albert observed also that he will cherish with great fondness his membership of the state Executive Council under the leadership of Governor Godswill Akpabio which he describes as pragmatic, a leadership he observed was saddled with the responsibility of implementing the Governor Godswill Akpabio’s vision for a greater Akwa Ibom State as the highlight and most satisfying experience of his public career.
Bassey Albert said, “Your Excellency, my family and I will not relent in prayers for God’s continued guidance in your life as you strive to steer the ship of state to shore.” The Ibiono Ibom born banking chief however prayed God to bless Akwa Ibom State.
