Enyiekere Emerges Secretary General PDP Local Govt Chairmen forum

 

Chairman of Ika Local Government Area Chief Saviour Enyiekere has emerged the National Secretary General of the Peoples Democratic Party Local Government Chairmen forum. His emergence THE INK learnt was facilitated by the state Governor Godswill Akpabio last week.

The decision to support Enyiekere who is the Ata Ntrukpum Annanag to such enviable position by the state Governor sources say is as a result of the loyalty, commitment and dedication of the Ika council boss to the Governor, his activities to the people of Ika Local Government and his determination to continuously serve the people effectively and with all amount of sincerity.
Enyiekere who is also the National President of 2015 Godswill Senatorial Movement (GASEM), it could be recalled broke a jinx to be the first Ika council Chairman to win a second term as the council boss. The Ika council helmsman is not new to service outside his grassroots Ika region as he once presided over the affairs of Former Abak Division Youth Assembly in 2003 till date as the National Chairman.

 His political positions speak volumes of his ability to deliver effectively in his new found capacity as he has once served as the coordinator Attah Ambassadors in Ika Local Government Area between 2002 to 2003, ward secretary, Annang Forum, Urban ward 1, Ika Local Government Area in 2003 till date. Enyiekere is also a permanent delegate/ coordinator, South –South Peoples Assembly (youth Directorate) Ika Local Government Area in 2005.
During his studentship of the University of Calabar, he emerged as the Chairman, Annang Clan Council in 2004. He is also the secretary Akwa Ibom Peoples Forum, Ika Local Government Area from 2003 till date. He is also the National Secretary General friends of Godswill Akpabio in Nigeria 2005 till date.

Enyiekere was the coordinator of Godswill Akpabio Gubernatorial campaign for nomination in Ika Local Government Area in 2007. He also coordinated ADV in Abak federal constituency. He was a campaign coordinator Akpabio and Ekere 2011 electioneering campaign organization in Ika. He was a PDP National Delegate for PDP National Convention in 2012.

Ever since he was elected to serve as the Chairman of Ika Local Government Area, he has performed exceedingly well and the numerous positions he is holding in and outside Government has not affected his services to the people. He has constructed a block of classrooms at Primary School, Ikot Okoroata, he also did same at Oyoh/Ikot Inyang Udo and also at Ikot Edim. He has touched indigent students by offering of Scholarships to about fifty orphaned students in the LGA, has donated exercise books to more than fifteen primary Schools in Ika LGA and has sponsored free educational programmes for students in Senior Classes throughout the local Government Area.

In the area of health, he has constructed health centre and has sponsored immunization of children, supply of drugs in the health centres and also donated wheel chairs to the less privileged. His impact in the supply and provision of electricity in the Local Government has equally been felt. He has also sunk boreholes for domestic use across the wards and villages of Ika Local Government Area. He has also in the area of Agriculture intervened by making available fertilizers free to citizens and also constructing a warehouse for useage by the people of Ika LGA amongst others.

While Enyiekere is doing these, he has not allowed any sector of the society to suffer. In terms of Social welfare and Sports, he has completed the Unity hall at Urua Inyang, he pays salaries as at when due and has organized the training and retraining of staff towards their effective services to the people of Ika LGA. In the area of Sports, Ika Unity Stadium is there to his credit amongst others like the sponsoring of football competitions in the Area. He has not left Human empowerment as he has purchased cars and other vehicles to party elders, youths and others. He has also sponsored students to computer training and as well sponsored some others to learn different forms of trade.

He has intervened in the area of security and others and has won for himself and Ika Local Government Area numerous awards in the process. His emergence as the National Secretary of the PDP Local Government Chairmen is therefore not a fluke but a reward for loyalty, dedication and commitment to duties, his special Adviser on Political matters, Marcus MacDonald told our reporter on Sunday night.
