Tower of Ivory Elementary Schools, Uyo celebrate Christmas

It was a moment of celebration for the pupils of Tower of Ivory Elementary Schools, Uyo branch as they were treated to a Christmas Coral party.

The party which marked the end of the 2015 academic session, took place at the school compound, 41 Idoro Road last Friday, featured welcome song, presentations, cutting of Christmas cake, dance concert as well as Christmas Carols by the pupils.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Board of Governors, Tower of Ivory Schools, DIG Udom Ekpoudom (Retired), expressed happiness for being part of the maiden edition of Christmas Coral of the school since the school opened her branch in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

DIG Ekpoudom said since Tower of Ivory Schools came on board, things have changed for the better in Akwa Ibom State in terms of giving quality education. Ekpoudom who said the school’s headquarters is at Ediene-Abak, noted that the school decided to opened her branch in Uyo due to demand from presents who reside in Uyo and were feeling stressful to bring their children daily to school in Ediene-Abak, Abak Local Government Area.


He however maintained that another reason for the school to consider it necessary to open her branch in Uyo was to bring quality education close to the children in the State capital. In his words, “We decided to bring quality education to the city of Uyo. It’s wouldn’t have be complete if Tower of Ivory Schools was not set up in Uyo, the State capital. Despite having two branches of Elementary in Ediene-Abak and Uyo, the school still have too many pupils.” He noted.

The Chairman, Board of Governors further said one of the secrets behind the schools progressing than as expected is because the school employed graduates to teach and all of them are well qualified in their different fields of studies, adding that the management of schools has always determined to pay the teachers well. “We have well qualified teachers that teach in our schools and we pay them well.”

The former police boss used the opportunity to thanked parents for making the right decision to send their children to Tower of Ivory Schools. He also thanked the State Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for providing an enabling environment for smooth operation of private schools to operate in Akwa Ibom State. 

Earlier in his speech, the Head of Schools, Tower of Ivory Schools, Uyo, Mr. Uduak Ekwere said the event was to celebrate Christmas with the pupils as well as official mark the end of the 2015 academic session. He said the school are noted for quality education and it has shown in the children that have passed through the school since the school came on board in 2010.

Mr. Ekwere said the vision of the school is to change the society by equipping children with the necessary skill and attitude to service in a competitive world, while the mission of the school is to support the governments in providing quality education as the right of the child particularly by changing children’s behaviour for better through adequate and appropriate exposure in the training of mind and acquisition of useful skills; and in the way, provides children with a foundation that is necessary for survival in a competitive world.

In his vote of thanks, the Director of Administration and Project, Engr. Ebong Ekpoudom commended parents for making out time to graced the event as well as celebrate with the pupils. He thanked parents for choosing Tower of Ivory Schools as their preferred school to enrol their children for quality education. He however solicited for ideas and contributions from parents that will help improve the school for better.
