Igbo community Akwa Ibom supports Buhari on corruption

The Igbo Community Development Association, Akwa Ibom State has thrown its weight behind the anti-corruption crusade of president Mohammadu Buhari.

 In a release signed by Nze Obi Anthony, chairman electoral inauguration committee, the group called on Nigerians not to politicized the on-going trail of key players of president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration.

“Some people say the Buhari’s administration is selective in its anti-corruption drive but we wish to call on Nigerians to be patient because the world is watching the president”, adding that the crusade has started yielding result.
 The Statement revealed that the group will on Friday December 18, 2015, inaugurate its newly elective executive members into office.
 Those to be sworn into office includes, Engr. Barr. Chidozie Charles Osuagwu, President General, Dr. C.Y.C Eze Umeakuku, Eze Ndigbo Akwa Ibom State and Chief Alex Ajokwe, traditional Prime minister among  other executive members.


 They were elected in a free and fair election conducted in Uyo on Saturday November 14, 2015, supervised by representatives of its mother and apex group Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu State.

 The release stated that prominent sons and daughters of Igbo extraction from within and outside the State, including the Akwa Ibom State Government will be in attendance during the historic event.

 ICDA said the group is not a political party like the G8 and other groups floated by Igbo indigenes in the Stare for reasons of obtaining  favour from the State government, warning that those impersonating the group should desist from such incriminating character as the security apparatus of the State has been hinted of such development.

 “Igbo Community Development Association Incorporated, Akwa Ibom State, is the only mouth piece of Igbos in Akwa Ibom State recognized by Ohanaeze Ndigbo”, the release State; addling that any person wishing to contact the group should channel their Communication through the president General, Barr C.C. Osuagwu. 

The group commended the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel for the prevailing peace and security in the State which has given room for business and commerce to strive.
