Cerftred out to tackle rights abuses, promote education  -director

The Executive Director of the Centre for Rights to Fair Treatment and Education (CERFTRED), Comrade Elijah Inyang, has reiterated the organization’s resolve to campaign for a better society via tackling human rights abuses and promoting qualitative education.

Inyang, who made the assertion during an inaugural meeting with the foundational members and strategic partners of the group in Abak, described the group as a formidable platform of expression.
While revealing that the organization’s motto is “Informing the misinformed”, he vowed that CERFTRED shall collaborate with other organizations, agencies and relevant government departments with similar objectives to fortify its existence and founding values.

While thanking members for identifying with the vision, Comrade Inyang urged them to continue displaying unflinching support to enable execute programmes for the benefit of the target audience.

In his discourse, the Executive Director of Organization for Education and Peaceful  Coexistence in Nigeria, Mr Paul Iwok, lauded Mr Inyang for setting up the forum, and however implored him to scout for like minds who would register a huge impact in the society, if membered by seasoned minds and likened CERFTRED  to a child that must be properly groomed to become a responsible adult.

He advised members not to be discouraged by the group’s humble beginning likening it to the Biblical mustard seed.

He however promised to contribute his quota  to the success of the group by offering mentoring services and other necessary assistance.
Responding, the CERFTRED boss, Comrade Inyang noted that the group aims to become one of the most vibrant NGOs in Nigeria, and implored them to be ready for an impactful experience.

3 For 1 Ambassadors Lauded For Outstanding Contributions To Democracy
The State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akan Okon, has eulogized a socio-political group in the State, 3 for 1 Ambassadors, for their unalloyed support to the previous government as well as their full participation in the electoral process which gave birth to the Udom Emmanuel administration. 

According to the State Finance Commissioner, the passion which the group has brought into the democratic process

as well as their sacrifice to mass mobilize and enlighten the people on government programs and activities, would not been in vain.
Mr Okon, made the commendation while playing host to the Executive Council of 3 for 1 Ambassadors, a foremost socio-political group which has chapters in all the 31 Local Government Areas, 10 Federal Constituencies as well as 3 senatorial districts of the State. 

Receiving the hard copy of projects and activities done by the group since its inception in 2012, the Commissioner who was highly elated stressed that the group’s contribution and rigorous campaign during the just concluded elections had helped expand the

wider narrative of democracy and good governance in the State.
“With what I am seeing, I can boldly say that 3 in 1 Ambassadors are among the prime movers of this government because you have contributed to this administration and there is no way you would not benefit in one way or the other and you can be rest assured that God will also reward you for this high level of patriotism and selfless service in the State”. 

The State Finance Commissioner who maintained that the Udom Emmanuel administration is determined to sustain superior performance in Akwa Ibom through industrialization urged people to rise up and promote the Dakkada philosophy.

Mr Akan Okon who further stated that Udom Emmanuel’s administration will not only stabilise the state, but take it to greater
heights called on politicians and people of the state to support the governor and embrace peace, saying that without peace no meaningful development can be achieved in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the President of the group, Mr Michael James, congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment into the State Executive Council and expressed optimism that Mr Akan Okon would bring his many years of experience in the financial sector to add value to the Udom Emmanuel led administration. 

Going memory lane, Mr James, observed that 3 for 1 Ambassadors was conceived and berth in 2012, saying the group since then, through seminars and workshops has encouraged grassroots participation in electoral process and as well sensitize players of politics in the State against violence, restiveness and other vices. 

He recalled that 3 for 1 Ambassadors was one of the first socio-political groups in the State that went on door-to-door campaign across the 3 senatorial districts and 31 LGAs for Mr Udom Emmanuel and as well created awareness through social media, print, electronic, car stickers and bill boards drumming support for the governor.

The group’s President who specifically eulogized the performance of Governor Emmanuel for running an administration characterised by genuine desire to entrench equity and good governance since May 29 he took over, pledged the group’s continuous support to the Governor and State government to succeed.
Highpoint of the visit were the appointment of Mr Akan Okon as the Patron of 3 for 1 Ambassadors as well as prayer session for God guide and protect the Governor and government of the State. 

Those who attended the courtesy call on the Commissioner were; Mr Ekeng Etim, Secretary, Engr Solomon Eyo Director, Media and Publicity and Mr Mfonobong Ukpong, Assistant Director, Media and Publicity. Others were: Mr Otuekong Linus, Youth Director, Hon Bassey Iniama, Coordinator, Itu Chapter, Mrs Comfort John, Women leader as well as Ms Rosemary Abraham, Deputy Women leader.
