Hon. Ekwere who is currently the Special Assistant to the state governor on Projects Supervision reiterated that the organization, having recalled how its members stood by the governor during and after his victory at the polls and in the appellate court decided to go back to tell them thank you.

“The leadership of Ibom Mandate Crusaders (Shoe Size 15-23) has deemed it fit to come back after our last victory in 2015 guber to say to our teeming members who relentlessly stood for their belief in Udom’s mandate ‘thank you’. This is a clear sign that when things will gets better as it will, we will never leave any of our member behind.

“It could be clearly recalled that IMC was one of the foremost groups that was evidently seen during the commissioning to mark the governor’s one year in office at all the project sites. This is a clear indication that IMC has never and will never leave any stone unturned when it come to rallying genuine support for our governor, Deacon UdomEmmanuel.

“IMC is not an ordinary sociopolitical group, it has it tab root link to God Almighty. This informed why we have been paying tithe from money accruing to us. We are hitting the ground running and we are on course towards ensuring that our vision (shoe Size 15-23) is achieved to the letter. God is with us.

”Our mission is to redefine the history of socio-political organization in Akwa Ibom State in such a way that will restore trust, sincerity of purpose and total commitment to a given political task. This is what IMC stands for”, Hon. Ekwere enthused.

Reeling out other benefits for its members, Ekwere said that members of the group stand a chance of benefiting from the zero interest and non collateral loans which will be given to them by the government through the group’s cooperative society (Shoe Size Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society), as well as  regular visit, mobilization from the group amongst others.

Speaking briefly on the history of the group, he said: “Ibom Mandate Crusaders (A.K.A Shoe Size 15-23) was duly registered in July, 2014 with the state’s Bureau of Political Affairs with membership strength cutting across the six geo-political regions/zones of Nigeria and it’s breaking frontiers into overseas like South Africa amongst others”.

Describing the body as a new dawn in the annals of socio-political culture in the state and the nation at large, Hon. Ekwere urged its members to be shinning stars in their various chapters and hold firm the group’s vision which, according to him, is in line with the governor’s mandate beyond 2019. He, however, called for more support and prayers to help the governor succeed in his bit to develop the state.

Responding, the Ukanafun local government coordinator, Comr. Ubong Udoumoh, his Oruk Anam counterpart, Elder Goddy Ezekiel Thomas,  that of Okobo, Hon. Morris Finbarr, that of Uruan, Elder Ini Jackson and that of Nsit Atai, Mr. Micheal Edem received the IMC team with open arm in their respective local governments  and described the visit as unprecedented in view of the fact that no political group has ever pay a ‘thank you’ visit to the people after elections.

The chapter coordinators, while expressing satisfaction for the kind gestures, promised to redouble their efforts in mobilizing support for the group and the governor.

Meanwhile, the group has so far visited 23 local government areas while the tour continues, Tuesday 13th, September at Nsit Ubium, Nsit Ibom and Ibesikpo local government respectively.
