Re-Union: Samuel Bill Students tackle Old Boys
The premises of Samuel Bill Theological College in Abak Local Government Area will this weekend witness influx of personalities as Old Boys of the School arrive for their annual get-together (re-union).
The event which is scheduled for Saturday, 4th May, 2019 at the school premises will commence with a novelty football match between the current Students of the school and the Old Boys at the school sports-ground on Friday, 3rd May, 2019 by 4pm.
Those expected to feature for the Old Boys Team are former footballers who had made their mark while playing for the school. The annual event which will attract Old Boys of the school from all the chapters within and outside the country, has a former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Uwem Udoma as the Chairman of the Planning Committee while the Executive Chairman of Abak, Hon. Barr. Imoh Williams is the Chief Host.
Speaking with our reporter about the up-coming event, the Chief Host and Chairman, Abak Local Government Area, Barr. Imoh Williams explained that it is an annual event aimed at bringing old students of the school together to chart a new cause for the development of the school.
Barr. Williams hinted that cream of personalities are expected to grace the event as according to him, the Planning Committee has extended invitation to the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, his Deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke, Chairman of Conference, Qua Iboe Church Nigeria, Rev. Ekpedeme Efanga, Chairman Conference United Evangelical Church, Rev. Ekukiba among others.
The Council Boss used the occasion to commend the State Governor for the massive renovation of structures in the school, stressing that the Old Boys of the institution are proud of him.
Speaking with our reporter at the school sports field yesterday, the School Captain, Pastor Edidiong Friday Udo informed that the novelty football match is expected to be highly explosive and entertaining.
He has accordingly invited friends of the school, sports-lovers and the general public to watch the encounter as well as attend the main event on Saturday.
