Oil Spill Palliative Projects: Royal Father receives recomendations

Commendations have trailed the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Supreme Traditional Rulers Council and the Paramount Ruler of Iben, HRM Onwong Dr. Effiong Bassey Archanga for his equitable distribution of  Oil Spill Palliative Projects to engender peace in his domain..

This commendation came from Exxon Mobil an international oil giant operating in the area during the presentation of the second batch of Exxon Mobil Oil Spill palliative project, comprising special school projects, fifty outboard engines and fibre boats, fishing nets and life buoys.
Speaking on the occasion, the Manager Public and Governmental Affairs, Mrs Regina Udobong, thanked the royal father for creating a peaceful atmosphere in Ibeno for their operation. Mrs Udobong who was represented by Mr Eyo Abia, praised the Paramount Ruler for the equitable distribution of the palliative lifeline and advised the beneficiaries and other members of the community to cooperate with the paramount ruler and shun acts capable of undermining the peace and progress of the area.  Responding the royal father, the Udammung 1 of Ibenoland, thanked Exxon Mobil for the timely intervention to alleviate the suffering of the people from oil spill. He noted that within his three years reign God has been helping him to attract more developmental projects to Ibeno which has become the economic base of the nation.

The monarch prided himself in the youths for making Ibeno the most peaceful oil producing area in the country and used the occasion to call on the beneficiaries of the oil spill palliative facilities not to sell but use in making meaning as intended. The royal father gave assurances that more empowerment will come as their way as long as they remain peaceful and loyal to the government of Udom Emmanuel.  Adding that with the Supreme Court verdict, the governor is now set for total industrialization of the state including Ibeno.

On the school project which has reached advanced state of completion, the monarch expressed appreciation to Exxon Mobil for facilitating the project he described as the first of its kind in Ibeno which on completion will not only advance the educational development of the people but will check untimely death of children from Ibeno going to school in the neighbouring communities.
The beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent during the ceremonies commended Exxon Mobil for donating the facilities and thanked the royal father for ensuring that the relief went round.

Arch Bishop Paul Hanson Ebong in his words expressed the hope the palliative lifeline will alleviate the suffering of the people and divert attention from restiveness. The man of God implored the beneficiaries to use the facilities for the purpose intended to earn a decent livelihood.
