2015 AKHA: Etinan students kick against Nse Ubeh

Students of Etinan Local Government Area studying at various institutions of higher learning has warned Mr. Nse Ubeh to desist from dragging their names into confusion as they have since made their position clear on whom they want to represent them and by extension the good people of Etinan state constituency at the House of Assembly come 2015. They also said they are poised to ensuring that Barr Aniefiok Dennis gets the victory as the House of Assembly election approaches.

In a position statement made by the Worldwide President of the body Comrade Oku Amos on behalf of the students, he said the students were shocked by the antics of Nse Ubeh whom they noted was an affront on the sensibilities of the students body. Oku Amos said, let me put the records straight and counter the erroneous announcement our attention was drawn to in some radio houses in the state that at no time did the students body endorsed or encouraged Nse Ubeh to contest the House of Assembly position for Etinan State constituency.

He said, the students were shocked to hear an announcement on the radio where they were said to have thrown their weight of support behind Nse Ubeh.

Continuing Oku Amos who was flanked by some members of his Executive committee stressed that the students are in full support of Barr Aniefiok Dennis because of his sterling qualities. They described Dennis as a man who has always at all times rise to their education needs observing also that if Dennis could assist the students when he was just an SA to the Governor, it therefore means that If Dennis gets to the House of Assembly; he will not let them down.
Etinan students stated that for a man of Nse Ubeh standing either knowingly or ignorantly going to radio to state that they (students) had backed him is quite unfortunate and shows how desperate some politicians could be in getting to political offices. They advised Nse Ubeh to desist from creating confusion in their ranks as Etinan students are too matured to be taken for a ride.

The students President said, the decision by them to openly endorse Barr Dennis was because they have holistic confidence in the style of Dennis leadership. He reminded that the event of the endorsement of Dennis took place at the Emrosy Hotel at Shelter Afrique Housing Estate, Uyo with over seventy students from different institutions in attendance.

He said at the end of the day, the students agreed and had to select the major stakeholders of the students’ body to sign a communiqué onbehalf of the students.

Furthermore, comrade Oku Amos denied ever assenting to the radio announcement of him or Etinan students supporting or endorsing Nse Ubeh for the House of Assembly seat. He said, National Association of Etinan Students know whom they want and cannot be confused into believing what he described as a hatchet job that was done for Nse Ubeh.
