Barely 12 months of existence as an accredited political party in Nigeria, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Akwa Ibom state has celebrated her one year of steady growth and expansion with the inauguration of chapter offices in the 31 local government areas of the State.
The celebration which took place at Oko Ita, Ibiono Ibom local government area, home of the pioneer state chairman of the party, witnessed the unveiling of a brand new chapter office of ADP in the area.
In his remark, the State chairman of the party, Mr. Ubong Emmanuel thanked God for the greater height that the party has attained within a short period of time, attributing it to God’s faithfulness, mercies and endorsement of the party.
He promised that ADP would take over power in Ekiti State in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, then spread to the national and state levels in 2019.
Mr. Emmanuel disclosed that the philosophy of the party is to stem the tide of youth restiveness, poverty alleviation, job creation and equal power allocation in Nigeria. He called on the residents of the state to embrace ADP as the credible alternative political party in Nigeria.
In his reaction, the representative of the party at the National level, Chief Christopher Solomon who was in the event, expressed appreciation over the overwhelming growth of the party in the State, adding that ADP came into Nigeria to ensure unity, peace, and progress which the country is yearning for.
He lauded the 31 chapter chairmen and state executive members of the party under the leadership of Mr. Ubong Emmanuel, for their selfless sacrifice, resilience and hardwork, noting that ADP will emerged the credible alternative political party for all in 2019.
Chief Solomon called on political class, well meaning individuals and the entire residents of the state to embrace the party and become members now that the door is still open for all, reiterating that in a short time, registration will soon end for members.
Others who spoke at the occasion were the three senatorial districts vice chairmen, the state women leader, Obongawan Joyce Udoh, the founding father of the party, Chief Ikpe Etuk JP, the Chapter Chairman of Ibiono Ibom and Host, Mr. Umoren Umoren and a host of others.
High point of the event was the official commissioning of the party office, cutting of anniversary cake, cultural dances and others.
