The Nigerian Navy on Thursday promoted two officers from the rank of Sub-Lt. to Lt. in NNS Jubilee, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
Decorating the newly promoted officers, the Commander of the NNS Jubilee, Commodore David Adeniran, charged the officers to be good ambassadors for Nigerian Navy.
The newly promoted Lt. includes Lt. Ernest Jim and Lt. Yusuf Galadima.
Adeniran urged the newly promoted officers to conduct themselves properly to justify the confidence repose on them.
“For Navy to have given you new rank it means Navy is satisfied that you deserved the promotion; it is now left for you to conduct yourself in order to perform optimally.
“You won’t just stop here but you will continue to go higher in the service and increase your output to justify your new position,’’ Adeniran said.
He congratulated the promoted officers while urging them to keep the flag flying.
Earlier, Executive Officer NNS Jubilee, Capt. Emmanuel Nmoyem congratulated the newly promoted officers and said that to who much is given much was expected.
He advised the officers to work harder and be committed to their work.
“You have to show moral, diligence and commitment to your duties at all times,’’ he said.
Responding, one of the promoted officers, Lt. Ernest Jim expressed appreciation to God, saying that the gesture would be memorable in their heart.
He said that the promotion was an added responsibility to their shoulders.
He applauded the Commander NNS Jubilee for making the occasion memorable and promised to put their best to uplift the Nigerian Navy to a greater height.
