2019: We are unshakable – Nsit Atai PDP Stakeholders, leaders tell Gov. Emmanuel

As Council Boss mobilizes for collection of PVC

Stakeholders, leaders and entire People Democratic Party (PDP) family in Nsit Atai Local Government Area have again reaffirmed their determination to  work and stand by the Party and Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The people made the unanimous decision yesterday, August 7th, 2018 during a well attended meeting held at the PDP Secretariat, Odot, Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai, Hon. (Lady) Emem Ibanga assured the Governor, National and State Leadership of PDP of the support of Nsit Atai people, asserting that they remain resolute in their unalloyed loyalty to the Party and Gov. Udom Emmanuel as to ensure his successful election in the coming general election.

“Nsit Atai Local Government is PDP and our members are intact. Nobody is defecting to any party”.

She urged the people to stand firm, remain steadfast and as well to discountenance any rumour of defection as such is not happening in Nsit Atai, while appealing to everyone to mobilize effectively and work together as a team in order to return Gov. Udom Emmanuel to the hill top mansion, come 2019.

The Council Chairman who equally advised Nsit Atai people for collection of their Permanent Voters’ Cards at INEC office, noted that it is the only weapon to fight and stand against any form of imposition bad and corrupt leaders. She pledged to mobilized the people of the Area for easy collection of their PVCs.

On his part, a frontline aspirant for Uyo Federal Constituency seat, Mr Emmanuel Okon said that Nsit Atai people are not only PDP members but they are committed and determined to work and return Gov.Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in 2019.

Responding to some Journalists immediately after the meeting, he said; “PDP in Nsit Atai is intact. The House of Assembly Member, Hon. Mark Esset, the Political Leader of Nsit Atai, Otuekong Raphael Bassey, the Executive Chairman, Hon Emem Ibanga, the likes of Uduak Ekpeowo, Prince Elijah, Major Gen. Edet Akpan, myself and other Stakeholders and leaders are unshakable. We are taking stock and statistics of our members in all the 10 Wards in Nsit Atai LGA. There’s is no single PDP member that has defected to the so called APC. So, by our statistics recorded in our meeting today, PDP in Nsit Atai remains intact and unshaken. I can say authoritatively and regardless of contradiction that PDP in Nsit Atai remains 100% for Gov. Udom Emmanuel. We are ready to work to return Udom Emmanuel to the hilltop mansion in 2019. I want to also say that there is no vacancy in the hilltop mansion for anybody. The governorship position of Akwa Ibom State in 2019 is for Udom Emmanuel till 2023".

Earlier at the meeting, the Chapter Chairman, Mr. Chrysanthus Okon stated that Nsit Atai people have unanimously resolved to vote and return Udom Emmanuel in 2019. “We equally agreed that any candidate presented by the PDP shall be voted alongside with the Governor to his or her position.”

Also speaking at the meeting where the Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency in AKHA, Hon Mark Esset, the Political leader of Nsit Atai, Otuekong Raphael Bassey, the Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Idorenyin Udoh, the PDP Chapter Women Leader, Mrs. Noble Paul, former Commissioner -Hon. Lawrence Udosen, the PDP Chapter Youth leader, Mr. Okon Effiong Okon and the Chairman of PDP Ward Chairmen, Mr Samuel Johnny Okon.

The meeting was attended by past and present political office holders, women and youths of the Area.
