UYO STATE CONSTITUENCY 2019: MONDAY EYO GETS SECOND TERM ENDORSEMENT FROM ETOI CLAN
Ahead of the 2019 House of Assembly Elections, Youths of Etoi Clan in Uyo Local Government Area, have thrown their weight behind the second term aspiration of the Lawmaker representing Uyo State Constituency, Hon. Monday Eyo, with a vow to mobilise the entire area, for the said cause.
The decision came following a meeting, convened by a son of the Area and Board Member, Akwa Ibom State Water Company Limited, Hon. Donatus Udoh, held in Uyo, yesterday.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Udoh, said the meeting was aimed at clarifying the seemingly complicated zoning principle in Uyo to the people and urged them to avoid being misled by those he described as self centered politicians.

Continuing, Mr Donatus who doubles as a Political Leader of Ward 5, noted that Etoi people are not desperate for Hon. Monday Eyo's reelection, but are bent on righting the wrongs, for posterity sake and appealed to some stakeholders in the Area to avoid inciting problems among the people.

"This meeting is a directive given to me by the government which I'm serving and as the political leader of Ward 5. That's why I called a meeting of  representatives from all the villages of Etoi Clan. The House of Assembly Seat is coming to Etoi, don't be misled. Etoi people are not desperate, they are not cowards", he said.

He maintained that zoning is unconstitutional, but however insisted it was constitutional for a Lawmaker to seek for a second term, and said Etoi people will resist political decisions that may cause disharmony in Uyo.

Udoh who lamented that Uyo has not been politically backwards due to the single term policy in the area, pointed out that giving another four years to Hon. Eyo will not only enable him consolidate on the gains of his achievements in his first tenure, but will put Uyo in the fore front of politics, as the State Capital.
