Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has taken steps to tackle flood menace in the state with the flag off of the construction of Uyo Outfall Drain. Speaking at the event which took place along Oron road, Nsikak Eduok by four lane junction , Governor Emmanuel expressed delight at the quick take off of the project. He said his government is responsive to the welfare of the people by ensuing that the state is made habitable for it citizens. He added that he would explore every means to justify the people’s mandate on him and announced that the project would be completed in four months.

Child Abuse: Children should not be traded as commodities – Gov Udom
The 2015 Sensitisation Campaign against Child Abuse, Child Trafficking, Child Labour, Child Abandonment and Baby Factory has been flagged-off by the State Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, with a call on all and sundry to join in the fight to stem the tide, by fighting shoulder to shoulder. Performing the ceremony in the Council Hall of Eket Local Government Area and Headquarters of Eket Federal Constituency, the Governor condemned in totality the abuse of children in whatever form, describing it as a grave offence, not just against children, but a crime against humanity.
