Sir James bags “Most Popular Comedian” award

These were the lines of foremost rib cracker who doubles the president of Comedians International; SIR JAMES while responding to his new award & first for 2014 as MOST POPULAR COMEDIAN IN AKWA IBOM STATE. For record purposes, Sir James who left AKBC TV as a presenter on a controversial pattern has been stepping up his game, he has about 20 awards recognition from various bodies, some of which includes: BEST COMEDIAN IN AKWA CROSS 2013, Nominees for BEST UPRISING COMEDIAN IN NIGER DELTA.

In our previous edition, we considered five possible  ways mothers can teach their children good morals, in this edition we will continue where we stopped.

6. Hold your children accountable for their mistakes: It is possible for your children to get themselves in to trouble either while playing in school or with their peer group. They may get injured while playing, perform poorly in their academics or disobey school rules and receive a detention. You may be tempted to rush in and immediately try to “make things better” for them by going to the principal and ask him to take away the detention or by paying for d broken window yourself, but don’t. If you rescue or defend your children every time the make avoidable mistakes, they will be accustomed to it, they won’t take responsibility for their actions. They need to know that bad choices result in unpleasant consequences. A child that you will always defend will not feel remorseful when he is at fault. He will not have respect for other people’s things neither will he value them. 

Getting real with Phina TV Talkshow begins on AKBC

                         

A programme known as “Getting Real with Phina TV Talkshow” last week began on AKBC, channel 45, Uyo.
Chatting with journalists, the producer of the programme Mrs. Phina Akhimien said the show will be shown on Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Cooperation (AKBC) every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 7:00pm and will be targeting societal, political and personal issues.

Mrs. Phina Akhimien who is the founder of virginHood Group maintained that before now the programme has been on for over 2 years in Rivers State Television with over 36 episodes. “The programme has African setting and is a talk-drama show. It is to promote sustainable development through culture education and application of the values in the socio-cultural enhancement of our society”.

Mrs. Akhimien who hails from Edo State and is also the publisher of VirginHood magazine promises that the TV show will positively impact the youths as well as parents in the state. In her words, “everything about the TV show will always be cultural and traditional, we have the programme on YouTube and we can also be reached through Twitter and Facebook. Getting real with Phina TV talkshow is a reflection of me because I will not focus on reporting alone but I will also go to mix and live with people to know their feelings”.

She described Akwa Ibom State as a virgin and the most peaceful in Nigeria, adding that this attributes motivated her to extend the programme from Rivers state to Akwa Ibom while enjoining viewers to keep a date with her on the programme.
