Since the inauguration of Engr. Ignatius Edet as the chairman,  Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) by the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio last year, the erudite and efficient gentle man has continued to demonstrate passion and commitment to the task of make Uyo capital city a model in Nigeria.

 
The UCCDA board headed by Engr. Ignatius Edet comprises other tested and committed members and staff who in no small measure have been able to ensure that the vision of Engr. Edet in ensuring the transformation of the Capital City is what it should be so as to compete with other developed nations of the world.
Engr. Edet who is a seasoned politician and a tested Engineer cum technocrat is knowledgeable in what it takes to make a model city out of the town due to his exposure and connections around the world and he is leaving no stone unturned by ensuring that developers in the State adhere to the development master plan of Uyo Capital City.

UCCDA reads riot act BY JOSEPH OKON

The Chairman of Uyo Capital City Development Authority UCCDA, Engr. Ignatius Edet has warned communities and developers within the Uyo capital city to desist from encroachment on government lands. 

Engr. Edet stated this last Friday during a one day stakeholders meeting on physical development organized by the UCCDA to enlighten traditional rulers, youth and women groups, opinion leaders and others living or doing any business within the capital city on government plans in the state.

He said that henceforth, anyone who wants to build any structure within the capital city area must first obtain approval from the UCCDA before embarking on such construction work else it will be declared illegal by the UCCDA.

Following the demolition of illegal structures in the city of Uyo, the chairman of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), Hon. Ignatius Edet has highlighted the achievements of the board in the last 10months.

Briefing journalists at the NUJ press centre, Hon. Ignatius Edet mentioned that Ikpa Road, Uniuyo-Urua Ekpa junction has been recovered; that all illegal traders and their shanties have been removed and the road, made clear for motorists and pedestrians to transverse.
